Hey Sharrah, first… love the transformation…unbelievable! But honey… cheers to you 🥂on the launch of our new course. It’s the first big project we’ve done together. There’s no one I’d rather partner with to create something that can truly help the people who follow us and trust us. I’m so proud of you and continue to be delighted by your talent and the light that shines from within you. Love you honey 🥰 Let’s do this BIG thing 🙌🏻 Mom
I love watching you transform your homes into the beautiful spaces that they become. Thank you so much for sharing your design/decorating visions with us! :)
Love the new look! Personally I think the upstairs doors would look better if they are striped down to match the railing. The original wood grain is so beautiful.
I love the entryway so much more after the paint and striping the handrail. It's stunning. Such a beautiful home and that change made it even more beautiful.
I agree. There will be those viewers who disagree naturally. So many urged them not to change the stain color. I found the original design dreary and oppressive. With the added light and the white paint, it’s easier for me to appreciate all the fine details.
Well done! I love it. The only change I would make is the chair, plant, and cement table, it doesn't seem to fit the space, or look elegant enough for all that gorgeous work that was done. Your vision is spot on, and soon it will be filled with lots of children and I can't wait to see the Christmas show.
I agree. It doesn't look right and it made the whole look of the entryway disconnected. I was thinking of a big round table with some floral arrangements on top? But not really sure.... Otherwise, the whole transformation of the stairs and colors are awesome!
This is absolutely beautiful! Great color choices, and the decision to keep the chandelier is brilliant. An update without losing this beautiful house’s character
I am Team Dark Wood for historical purposes and to be true to the time period of the home. I would have lightened up the areas with wall paint and hired a lighting consultant to help me. However, you prefer to decorate your home in the Scandi/Mid-Century Modern style and I think you transformed the space beautifully. So thrilled you decided to keep the original chandeliers.
So what you are saying is that you would have lightened up the walls (painted the panelling with wall paint as well) but left the stairs in the original dark wood?
No, that's not what I am saying. I would have left ALL dark wood alone. Stairs, wainscoting (paneling), door frames, interior front door, fireplaces (where stained), crown, chair rail, baseboards.....all molding, etc. I would have left it in it's stained (dark wood) appearance, keeping with the historical nature of the home. I assume the walls are plaster and not drywall. But I'm not really sure. That is what I would have painted. Walls, not millwork. As I said in my previous comment, I think Sharrah did a great job with her transformation. Really great. It's magazine worthy. Her selection of Benjamin Moore "Cloud White" paint really showcases the molding beautifully. For me, I would have gone a different direction. Historical preservation would have played a part in my decision.
Would you say you like the classic and traditional styles., I am a fan of that as well as vintage.... quite charming and nostalgic. I am tempted to paint my stair case white still and live the hand rail that dark wood colour you are talking about . I hope it is not a fail :D
Previously you were talking about removing the chandeliers. I'm so glad you didn't do that, because they look fantastic with the light colors and definitely add a bit of grandeur. I think the modern furniture creates a wonder juxtaposition, proving that well-designed furniture will work in any space. Beautiful.
Whiter, Brighter, Lighter!☀️😍 Absolutely beautiful! I can't imagine living in it the way it was, I'm so happy you stood by your own vision! What a beautiful transformation! 💛✌🏻
Love the dark but this time I love how the bright colours transform this area, I mean look at the chandelier before you can hardly see and appreciate it's beauty but now it's a WOW factor, you can see how amazing it looks. Cool and can't wait for the rest of your house for you to make your stamp on it 😍
Love your painted house in light colors - you and your Mom are the best decorators and helpful. During Covid I painted a lot of things around my house to make it light, fresh and updated and love it now refreshed 👍❤️
Sharrah, Wow! I absolutely love what you have done to the entryway and staircase. When I first saw the the dark staircase and paneling I said “Oh yeah, I think it would be beautiful if the paneling, railings, and the staircase it were a lighter color.” Now that it has been done, your staircase, the paneling, and the walls make this space more light, bright, and spacious. I have to say, if this were my home, I would have done exactly the same thing. This looks beautiful and I love it!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you Sharrah for sharing your design and decor ideas with your viewers and subscribers. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤️❤️❤️!!
Sharrah, your entryway is gorgeous. Loved the paintwork and the furniture placement. Loved the lighting . About the doors upstairs- i think it would look lovely stripped to the wood colour on your stairway handrails. Take care. Would love to enroll in your course. Need to work out the logistics though.
Yes, I like the light, white and bright accents. Truly transformed the dark room into a sunny area especially with the added LED lighting. I like how you have the door open into the next room to allow the sun coming in. Lighting is eveything for me because it affects my mood as well. Truly love the handrail in its natural wood tone. A+
It’s absolutely beautiful I love how the white makes it so bright and makes the textures pop even more. The doors upstairs do throw me off, have you thought of sanding it down and maybe it may be the colour tone of the railing and light wood. It would bring that lighter wood colour against the walls. Just sharing my opinion, non the less your home looks gorgeous. Many blessings to you and your family and this home 💕
I really like what you've done with the entryway. The idea to put the two tables by the door and have a little bowl to catch the mail is creative and I like it. And I really, really like the chandeliers. I think of them as jewelry for a house. So to see a number of them in a house is a beautiful thing.
200% better! Loved that you painted it white! What a transformation! Everything looks inviting and brand new and talk about spacious. The color you chose is perfect!
I would have loved the dark wood color as the accent, and as a nod to the history, and I think it looks so nice with contrasting white. The entryway is certainly brighter! And the mirror is gorgeous!
The features are still there as a nod to history. They don't need to be dark to do that. I think it looks so much better! History is fine, but people have to live in the house, and living with darkness is such a problem! This is so much better even for mental health!
@@big.fan.of.justice5754 Of course, they don't 'need to' be anything other than what the homeowner wants. Just saying what I would have done, since she literally asked.
Wow! The entry way is gorgeous! As much as I love natural wood, your entry way was extremely dark for my taste. Your entry was is now is such a beautiful showcase. Thank you for sharing.
Your new home is turning out to be a beautiful and welcoming place. The paint choice is spot-on, especially for an up-and-coming young couple starting on a marvelous adventure. Enjoy your blessings and continue to enlighten us with your love for design.
I love what you did with your entryway. It is so bright and elegant. Awesome job. Also, I'm so excited about the course you and your mom are offering. You two are the best. Love you both❤
*LOVE* the update - completely agree with painting the trim white. That along with the added lighting just showcases the beauty of the wooden features. I also love the light tone of the hand railing. A transformation like this just reinforces how we can transform our beautiful (older) homes, into the light bright warm environment we want it to be without ripping everything back and loosing those special touches. Keeping doing what you're doing - love watching your videos. 🇿🇦
That is a happy entry now. As beautiful as the stairway is, that mirror totally makes the space for me. Do you have it secured to the wall? As babies become toddlers and start pulling themselves up on anything and everything, it could be a safety hazard.
The transformation is breathtakingly beautiful. I just love the way your whole family is so kind and gentle and upbeat. You are down to earth and not snobby or pretentious like so many other designers. Thank you for sharing your ideas. I enjoy all the Kinwoven and Rebecca videos.
Ok this made the whole of a difference... How bright!!! And now also the chandeliers looks a gem and not something heavy. Great the idea of adding spots lights to bright it up even more Sara Nena DIY
I was so nervous when you started painting. I refinished antiques for 25 years. But I couldn't have been more shocked with how it turned out. It is just beautiful. I love the light wood and the white. It just takes my breath away. After sanding things by hand all those years ,I can imagine how long it took them. Well maybe not.?? Love it! Joyce
Absolutely beautiful!!!! Well done, I love how light and inviting it is now!!! It was very grand and formal before, it really is a gorgeous house, no matter what color it is. Great job!!!👏🏻💕
I was definitely skeptical of changing so much of the original woodwork but it turned out beautiful! I'm not typically a fan of a heavy white/neutral interior space but the way it opened up and really brightened the entry is amazing and was a great choice. Personally I would add some artwork and/or photography to bring in color and more personality to the walls/atrium area but I'm very partial to bold/colorful pieces haha. Either way, turned out great and really suits everything else you've done with your home so far! Thanks for sharing!
This is stunning! Love the transformation! Gives it such a calming, peaceful vibe. I personally don’t like the darker colors. They seem super heavy and it weighs down on the spaces to where it’s too overpowering and dark. I live for light, airy, and open colors that make everything so cozy. You have incredible talent girl! Wish you could decorate my house when we buy lol
We live in Oklahoma too. Okies loves wood tones. When we bought our house 10 years ago there was so much oak wood. We finally finished painting it all white and 💗 it !
So glad you shared this beautiful transformation, Sharrah! And kudos to you for getting all this done with a baby that also transforms your lives and take so much of your energy and tIme. You are an amazing young woman and an inspiration to so many!
Perfection. Painting the wood white illuminated that whole space. It took it from a dark, heavy space to an inspiring, light filled grand entry. It's breathtaking! Good job!
I was iffy about changing the hallway. You were right. It looks so much better, brighter and less gothic! Great choices. Love the light fixtures. Just beautiful.
Me too! It would have looked grander too but perhaps they didn't want that. I don't like the mirror on the floor. I think it makes the space look smaller.
In the housing market today, we bought ur first home 5 years ago. We lucked out on finding one at a really good price. The one room i would love to renovate is my Kitchen. The heart of the home! The area you most use daily!
What a gorgeous transformation!! The white trim brings forward all the beautiful detail!! I absolutely love your color choices. The only thing I would change would be the dark wood doors on the second level. I get why you left them but feel it would look more cohesive if they were painted white. Your home is absolutely lovely and inviting.
Definitely, definitely, definitely Team Dark! The entry looks amazing in white, of course! But I could have never brought myself to paint over such gorgeous, historical wood. In my opinion the house has now lost what made it so charming. It’s still charming, obviously, but in a much different, more generic way. But whatever makes you happy! Also, great choice to leave the chandeliers! They truly are such gems!
I absolutely love the colors in the entry and stairs. It brightened that space up so much. To me, the lighter colors really make the chandeliers pop. So gorgeous.
I have to say since your move, then your mama's move, I've been enjoying more and more the transformation, the complete joy (Sawyer and what he brings to your home) in all that is transpiring...you make me smile every time I see you!~
I love it. The light color opens up the space and you can appreciate the details of the wood, etc. It was too dark before and couldn't see the beauty of this space. Best wishes.
I don't even recall if I was team white or not but I LOVE the white paint on the wood. It looks amazing! Seriously, it freshened up the place and it still looks so classic and beautiful.
Amazing transformation! So glad you did it! I would love to see some beautiful artwork hung between the upstairs doors-and also the doors painted white! Love, love, love your new home!
Incredible transformation! I really like that the spindles are varied. Thanks for preserving the history of the place. And since you asked: The room in my home that I cannot figure out but would love to, is my combo living room/dining room with cumbersome window placement and slanted ceiling from 8 ft to 20 ft! Not even kidding. Several quirky things affect this space. Been working on it for many years. C'est la vie.
From the moment you brought the house, this is the direction I knew you would go and I couldn't wait to see the end product! You made it come to life and WOW! I knew you were going to make it light, bright and stunning and it's amazing Sharrah! Extraordinary job!
Hi Sharrah, I am so surprised at how beautiful the white paint on the banister and paneling turned out to be !! Originally, I was absolutely against your painting over it. But how right you were! And it was of course a good and important decision to have it done by a professional. The white tone also harmonizes wonderfully with the color of the wall. Yes, you are the experts and you know exactly what you are doing. Congratulations on the result !!!!
I love what you did! I don’t like a dark room and what a difference a little paint cans make! Ive been following you and your mom for a few years now and decor and style has always been my passion! Thank you for helping me bring out my artistic side.
Absolutely gor-grouse entryway and staircase it looks 30 years younger !!! I need a transformation 😄 The character of the home wasn’t compromised either which I have seen often in my years as a realtor. Beautifully done as expected!!
Our master bedroom!! Been married almost 15yrs and we’ve always been prioritizing the kids’ rooms over our room. We have a cal king mattress on a $99 platform from Walmart. It’s a huge white box with a giant bed in the middle. 😂 I’d love a fireplace and a grown-up bed. 🙌🏻
LOVE the white paint. The 2 colors are perfect together. You did an awesome job transforming this space and the brightness has brought life to it. It feels alive and happy (if that makes sense…). I’m on the waitlist for your amazing class which is a brilliant idea! I found you first, years ago when you had your own channel. I learned so much from your videos. That was when I learned about your mom as a designer too. (To this day, I hang every curtain panel FROM THE CEILING😉😊- great great tip which I have shared with my daughters.). I can’t wait to take this class as I have never felt confident in my skills and since I’m now retired, I’m looking to redecorate in a way I’ve never decorated before. Thank you for setting this up. It’s the way to go in 2021. Online classes unite people from all over the world bringing us together to learn and appreciate how alike we are. Blessings to you on this adventure!!❤️❤️❤️
Wow! What a difference. The handrail is my favourite part. I really like the white. I think after seeing the handrail I probably wold have re-done the floors the same as the hand rail. Thanks how much I love the handrail.
Holy WOW!!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 So very grand!!! I’m definitely team white and agree the dark doors upstairs look good! Nice transformation. I just adore this home.
Oh this is light and airy!!!Glad that you kept the chandeliers. The mirror pops. 💖💖💖I can't wait to see the porch and the little apartment in the garden get a lifting. Keep going.
Hi Sharrah! Congratulations on the house and the baby!! Girl! That entryway is EVERYTHING! The room in my house that I WISH I can get my hands on with unlimited resources would definitely be my living room!
White paint is transformative. My husband and I spent 6 months painting the walls and all the original dark cabinets in our house "Distant Gray" by Benjamin Moore. We live in Florida and wanted a cooler white paint. Anyway, my husband had to fill in all the crevices that showed up after we primed. You really don't notice those issues when the stain or paint is dark. It was a lot of work. We used the same paint color on all the surfaces and just changed the finish. I figured that would make "cutting in " easier since we did all the work ourselves. Using the same color also improved FLOW. Your entry is gorgeous. Love how the huge new mirror works with the original chandeliers.
Oh my dream staircase If I had the money my kitchen would be my next renovation project. Love your style. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us.
Wow! It really looks fantastic and I love, love that you had them sand and expose that natural trim on the hand rail, Simply Gorgeous!!! Really turned out Beautifully❤️❤️❤️

Love the new look! Personally I think the upstairs doors would look better if they are striped down to match the railing. The original wood grain is so beautiful.
I would agree.
Yeah I'd agree too. "Repeating the matter" 😆
indeed! and would give more lightness to the area
I love the entryway so much more after the paint and striping the handrail. It's stunning. Such a beautiful home and that change made it even more beautiful.
I also love how much the nature of the house is still being honored. Well done!
I agree. There will be those viewers who disagree naturally. So many urged them not to change the stain color. I found the original design dreary and oppressive. With the added light and the white paint, it’s easier for me to appreciate all the fine details.
Beautiful!!❤
Well done! I love it. The only change I would make is the chair, plant, and cement table, it doesn't seem to fit the space, or look elegant enough for all that gorgeous work that was done. Your vision is spot on, and soon it will be filled with lots of children and I can't wait to see the Christmas show.
Totally agree about the chair and the table. The mirror works great and it’s beautiful!

I used to roll my eyes at painting natural wood but who could deny the results here?? It is gorgeous!
Ditto~
I did the same, but after seeing the results, oh wow, it made me want to do more painting on natural wood.

Honestly you are always so giving! Thank you for opportunity to even sign up for this. Your houses are so beautiful just like your souls.
I love it. The light color opens up the space and you can appreciate the details of the wood, etc. It was too dark before and couldn't see the beauty of this space. Best wishes.
Did NOT want you to paint the historical woodwork but it turned out lovely! You updated it very respectfully. Well done! Gorgeous! 🌷
It’s absolutely spectacular! I’m team white white white! It’s your home, you have to live in it!
Absolutely gorgeous. Never would have thought to go light on the banister and white on the rest but WOW what a difference. Very elegant - I love it!
From the moment you brought the house, this is the direction I knew you would go and I couldn't wait to see the end product! You made it come to life and WOW! I knew you were going to make it light, bright and stunning and it's amazing Sharrah! Extraordinary job!
Loving the bright and cheery space- my fav color scheme (white, light wood, greenery)!!!👍🏻👏🏻👍🏻👏🏻
It’s gorgeous p, thanks for sharing. I learned that tip of lighting your paint 50% from a another designer as will👍🏼
LOVE the white paint.
The white really brighten and opened up the space. I love it better than the dark.
WOW!!! The entry is beautiful now. The wood color is SO pretty and the light paint brightens the total space up. Nicely done!!!
Wow! What a difference. The handrail is my favourite part. I really like the white. I think after seeing the handrail I probably wold have re-done the floors the same as the hand rail. Thanks how much I love the handrail.
I’m in COMPLETE AWE. It’s PERFECT…. Your home is gorgeous …. I love everything you’ve done. Such an inspiration!!!!
It's more lighted with the effect of the color choice.
And am loving the mirror reflection, making the staircase double up
Holy WOW!!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 So very grand!!! I’m definitely team white and agree the dark doors upstairs look good! Nice transformation. I just adore this home.
It looks much better. It lightens and brightens the entire entryway. I love it!
Oh my dream staircase
If I had the money my kitchen would be my next renovation project.
Love your style.
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us.
I love how the white and bright colors really opened up the space! It is soo beautiful!!
I love it! I think it looks so much better. The lighter color really makes the space look bigger, more open and inviting.
As much as I like black or dark wooden pieces, this is amazing! Love how it came.
Wow! It really looks fantastic and I love, love that you had them sand and expose that natural trim on the hand rail, Simply Gorgeous!!! Really turned out Beautifully❤️❤️❤️
I love the white!!! It's so much brighter and you can really see all the beautiful details.
Love the transformation! It makes the beautiful handrail, woodwork and floor detail pop.
I love both~ but I do love the makeover so much~ love how much lighter and brighter the space is!!! I love all the love lol!
it turned out beautiful. I'm glad you kept the doors upstairs the original color. Love the contrast.
