Hall Ave was the second smith street up until mid 60s. Riots urban flight and decay closed storefronts and made property values plummet.....building of sofield apts one block off hall drove crime and drugs off the scale further sealing it's demise. Only when multi story apts knocked down did area stabilize

But definitely a Wednesday evening and usually truck 79 does that side of town the north side they start the route Wednesday at 5am on state street and go down towards hall ave where they make a turn and do all those streets in between up to catherine
my Great grandfather used to own the Portugese club in the 30's, the family story gos he had Glenn Miller play there, and that he was also had the first Cadillac in Perth Amboy.

0:13 I used to live on That light brick building on state st at the beginning of the video.1:54 Elizabeth St Restaurant on the corner makes really good Mangu. 5:49. on this corner of this street where the greenhouse is, that’s were I got my first kiss. 7:24 that Family Laundry used to be a bar back in the days, it was called Cibao Bar and that’s when Dominicans first started moving to Amboy. Boy we had a lot of great moments of partying in that place. I grew up in the Huntington Building. I lived all over different parts of town but the building is where I lived the longest. As you can tell I have a lot of history and memories in Perth Amboy, it will always be home no matter where I live.

My Grandparents were from Perth Amboy my Grandmothers Father was the original owner and creator of Coney Island Hotdogs.
Big up Amboy aint been home in 30 plus years looks the same its a shame they tore down the buildings stockton huntington miss u Amboy
