Expeditions are very well known for blowing engines, the junkyards full of them.
In all fairness, junkyards are full of every make and model car... That's why they are junk yards. Expeditions of the 2v era are bulletproof.
Also in all fairness I've seen expeditions with 500k if they had the old 2valve 5.4! No joke! These things were worked hard on a courier route and kept going! Also my 04 f250 had a 2 valve 5.4 and I put 360k on it before a 2500 chevy hit me and totaled it ! The 04 f250 could be had with a 5.4 2valve but yet 04 f150s had the three valve!

Why do you sell cars via auctions? You’re basically ensuring you get paid the least amount of money.. you could have easily sold this for $2,000-$2,500

Picked up a southern rust free 04 expedition. $3000.00 dollars. Runs great. It's my project truck. I have a $12000.00 budget for it. I going to bring it back to new condition. Well worth it. A new one is well over $50,000 ,dollars. No car payment. My mechanic has replaced nearly everything. It's a 1 year project. Mine is a 4wd eddie bauer edition. 200,000 miles.
I think doing the foggy headlights are one of the best things you can do when detailing a car.
And steering too

Would you believe me that I sold a very similar one back in july for $14.800 at my small dealership in southeastern Europe?
..and yes, that actually is the regular price over here for a car like that. It's absolutely amazing how cheap they are over there.
Hate to see it go man but that is my favorite generation of Expedition... They are reliable both 2V and 3V since there both stroked 4.6s. There is a aftermarket oil pump for the 3V and of course aftermarket plugs for it that will make it so much better in terms of reliability! Good video!
Someone got a steal for $900 even if it has 267k miles.

Yeah you are right on the alternator thing! Alot of those 5.4s have heavy duty alternators! My f250 was that way!

It's amazing to me how everyone is an expert on how Randy should run his business. At the end of the day you made over 500.00 on a vehicle that you spent what 1 week maybe 2 on the Ford SUV! 901.00 is a surprise to me I thought she'd bring 3000/4000 at least as nice as she was. You stole it then someone else did. Just keep doing what your doing and AAR will be just fine.

I was like WTF !!
If Randy was a retail dealer with a lot he probably could have sold it for more money. Selling through IAA limits the potential customers, plus it's an auction so it limits the time people have to find it for sale. Yeah he can advertise through this channel, but how many viewers are local enough to buy cars from his IAA location?
But being a retail dealer comes with more headaches, more laws and rules to follow, it may not be cost effective to make that leap selling $500 hoopties that way.

Bought a used 4.6 with 100k on it and racked up the miles back in the day hauling 3 kids and their teammates all over town. Great reliable truck.

Randy!!! Check the multi-pin connector which plugs into the alternator. On my '05 GT, it took a strong push with my thumb to get it locked in.
That car was giving the the "Check Charging System" message, but I still had good charging voltage, and no other symptoms of such a problem. Expecting to find the charge cable not tight at the alternator, I pulled it out and checked everything, and that multi-pin plug came out a little too easy when I pulled on it. When I put it back together, I had to really use some pressure to get that connector to click into the locked position. But once I did that, the message center warnings stopped, and the charging voltage went up a tenth, or two, of a volt.
While I appreciate the advice, as the video implies the car is long sold and gone.

Ford/Lincoln make amazing cars but sometimes come up with stupid decisions (internal water pump in 3.5 & 3.7, 3v in 5.4, auto transmission in focus, manual transmission in some of the Mustangs)

I'm a dealership, so I have dealer tags that go on any vehicle I drive.
If you had brought that vehicle up to New England it would have gone for quite a bit.

I loved mine, ifnit was 4wd I would have bid on it. 2wd in snow country doesn't make a lot of sense when you get 3 feet of snow in storms.

The Expedition turned out GREAT!!!!! All you have to do is either restore the headlights or replace them which is what I would do and it would look awesome. I REALLY miss the Eddie Bauer Fords, they were beautiful!
Since I'm sick there will be several of these coming out over the next few days as I recover and stay home. I appreciate it man.

I don’t care or need an explanation of why you get rid of vehicles or why you keep them OR WHAT YOU MAKE ON THEM!!! Anyone who cares about that is not a fan and shouldn’t be watching your channel. It’s your job and business to make a profit and a living. Time is money. You have bills to pay just like the rest of us. Any profit you make is a good deal no matter how you do it. You can absolutely count the video profit toward the total of the vehicle...because that is the entire premise of how your business is structured! The whole point is to feature cars and make money off of the content.

I understand your business setup and it's great that it is working but not sure that is a sustainable business model,what would happen if RUclips revenue drops or goes away for some unforseen reason. Not saying that will happen but it crazier things have happened.
I think you should have at least got $1500 for it; that vehicle should go another 100K miles with regular oil changes and maintenance... Heck, I bet CARMAX would've given you more than $900 for it!
