I'd strongly suggest you look up the basic minimum fitness requirements for the military you're joining. And remember that's MINIMUM, so best to shoot for somewhat above that BEFORE you go in. And forget cycling. Run, lift, and if you can, find out what calisthenics regimen is used. If you're trying to loose weight, then obviously no "fuel" is needed. I'm cycling every day. Often during a fast. But I never run out of energy because I'm burning fat.
Actually it depends on your speed/effort ( aerobic vs anaerobic training ) it depends on the person, terrain, distance, and so ma y other factors as well. what I'm trying to say, is that you can't be sure always that you are burning fat. In most recreational bikers they'll end burning more carbohydrates and even protein than fat. And remember that the body rarely depends on one source for energy ( fat for example ), it uses a mix of fuels (carbs, fats, and en extreme cases protein ).
@@thecoldzero911 your body will naturally tend to burn carbs when available. I wouldn’t consider myself a pro cyclist but I’ve been cycling ever since I was 7 years old and I’ve learnt a lot about cycling like always drinking water and watching for cars I have a Rocky Mountain bike with a saddle and front and wear flashing lights I always have a hand pump and a traffic vest
I'll come watch this later. I've been watching multiple beginner tips since this morning and I haven't eat yet! Anyways, my problem is I am having a hard time controlling my bike's handle and also using the brakes. One time, I almost got in an accident while riding a mountain bike my first time. A car's in the same way as me so basically I needed to stop because the road is narrow. So, I tried to stop myself with the brakes, and tried to put my feet on the ground but can't, once the bike stopped because of the brakes, I just saw my face very close to the ground and the car, yet I was standing and touching the car to stop myself from falling further. I remember the car's driver actually stopped the car before I can, so that gladly helped me not get in an accident. I also remember the people in that area looking at me because the fault's definitely on me.
I was called a weirdo by some of my friends for carrying 2 inner tubes,a multi tool and air pump, until one of them go a flat, and by luck their tire was the same size as mine .
Check the weather channels. It really is no pleasure to be heading into a strong wind only to have it change direction when it is time to go home and you have to face the wind on the return journey too. If the wind feels like it could push you off your bicycle just turn around and go home.
I've ridden with many people who refuse to eat anything. They'll only drink water and that's it. Also same with people that won't shift enough and just too lazy to keep it in the right gear.
Haha I'm one of thos people who refuse to eat while out riding but it doesn't stop me from doing anything it's the same when I'm at work I don't eat till I get home if I eat on my break I just wanna go sleep after lol
Question for experienced riders. It seems to me that extra $$ spent on a bike equals: Weight reduction Durability & efficiency (specifically from higher grade parts) Customization (especially when an actual bike shop assembles it to fit your body) Am I missing anything else pertinent here?

One time i was racing in mtb orienteering, but forgot to check it was long distance. So the idiot i was I did not think i needed any water. 2.5 hours in and i was completely drained, like It took everything to peddle just one. Definetly one of the hardest races ive ever done, but the one who taught me the most about my mind and resilience. However i kept riding and finished an hour later, so 3.5 hours without water, now I always bring water no matter the distance.
I used to be walking for about 3 months home an hour and a half every night from work because public transport doesn't work at such hours. I just bought a bicycle and I ride to work and back home, it takes me about 30-40 minutes. Riding to work during 30-33C and riding home during 27-30C. It's HOT as heck and I arrive both ways soaking wet and I gotta change my clothes. Also the bicycle's sit is not comfortable at all, it hurts my butt a lot. Also I find it scary riding on the road along with the crazy traffic. People are dying on the road almost everyday in my country and I don't want to be involved. I never studied for a driving license and I don't know the laws so that makes riding along with cars irresponsible in my opinion. Instead, I carefully ride the sidewalks. There are so many things to get used to. Also, I ride with a heavy 10KG bag filled with my laptop and it's accessories on my back so that makes the ride a bit uncomfortable too. Though, riding a bicycle definitely spices up my boring life with some adrenaline.
Should I go on a gear 3 and speed 7 if I wanna have full speed in a bike race tho? And is it alright if I wear a hoodie while driving a bike, or it'll tire my hands?
Hi guys i am curious to know if you do any groin stretches before embarking on a short cycling trip... I was experiencing testicular pain for the past two days which i presume was from cycling...third day in the pain is almost non existent now but i want to know if it is common issue with cycling...the saddle is what came with the bike initially finding it uncomfortable over the time got used to it but maybe now i should consider a more cushioned saddle
More likely to do with bad seating posture like the angle is the saddle is wrong or the height and angle of the bars for your riding style etc. If course you could just have a poor saddle. I would go to a bike shop and get your bike measured up properly for you.
It's kind of near Kendal, but nearer to Kirkby Lonsdale, and it's not the Lake District. Barbondale is part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is a beltin' dale to ride your bike up and down. Specially down (once you deal with the peaky little climb out of Gawthrop). CW: nice video all the same.
I could not agree more that tyres should be cleaned and checked over after every ride, as well as the gears and chain etc. but most importantly brakes should be kept in good order and tested before every single ride. as to the tyres, the choices are now entirely dependent on what you want to achieve and how much you want to splash on your kit. IMHO 'older guys' did not have as much choice as there was hardly anything affordable in shops in the old days unlike nowadays when you are spoiled for choice but at the same time you cannot be sure what you are buying and how long it has been sitting and where. the maintenance of a tyre will slightly vary according to the TPI and intensity of use. BTW the main reason for shaving legs used to be a belief that it can singificantly affect your aerodynamics. now that our advanced air tunnels confirmed there is hardly anything measurable that we can hold on to, the main reasons for smooth legs, as the pros confirm, apart from the aesthetics, is making it easier for the masseur/masseuse to perform a regular sports and relaxation massage. i can only confirm that, as I used to work as a manual therapist and served a cycling club for some years. Hairy men, no matter how this may be attractive to some, are much harder to work on.
Straddle over your bike, put your leading foot on the pedal (make sure it's at 3 o'clock too), stand on said pedal (this will get the bike going & elevates yourself too) then sit on the saddle and you're off.
When I grabbed my rear brake on my road bike so hard, the tires at the back shredded because of the asphalt causing me to run flat my roadbike which is very excruciating and leaving me 23 kilometers walking
Ohhhhh dammn, 23 kms walking??? Thats terrible man, i rode 25 kms 2 ways once and every crevice of my body was exhausted, cant imagine walking that diatance.

I learned when I was 11.
...I still am.
I hate myself
Oddmoth its not easy but it gets much better
Where this was filmed ?
I loved those outdoors
Lake District I reckon?
0:32 hip pads always good for safety
I really enjoyed this. I have done everything one of these.
I remember back in the days you would see children just playing with their friends on their bikes ahh those were good days.
Yes I miss those for sure.
How about explaining how to shift the gears?
I was called a weirdo by some of my friends for carrying 2 inner tubes,a multi tool and air pump, until one of them go a flat, and by luck their tire was the same size as mine .
Check the weather channels. It really is no pleasure to be heading into a strong wind only to have it change direction when it is time to go home and you have to face the wind on the return journey too. If the wind feels like it could push you off your bicycle just turn around and go home.
Love the terrain your cycling in !
1:37 is why I am scared to wear such bottoms.
If you are a cyclist your the best! Thanks for sharing Dear. I'm your fans here
just wanted to see what biking RUclips was like since I do like biking but my city isnt much bike friendly especially in Texas it's bad
No matter what happens, cycling have to be fun. That's the very reason I start cycling.
I've ridden with many people who refuse to eat anything. They'll only drink water and that's it. Also same with people that won't shift enough and just too lazy to keep it in the right gear.
GNX157 fuck gears I'm a fixie goon
Haha I'm one of thos people who refuse to eat while out riding but it doesn't stop me from doing anything it's the same when I'm at work I don't eat till I get home if I eat on my break I just wanna go sleep after lol
Question for experienced riders.
It seems to me that extra $$ spent on a bike equals:
Weight reduction
Durability & efficiency (specifically from higher grade parts)
Customization (especially when an actual bike shop assembles it to fit your body)
Am I missing anything else pertinent here?
Great videos guys, quick question is it normal for entire body weight to fall on your arms while riding a MTB on cycle tracks?
If you cycle try riding Critical Mass in your own town or city on the last Friday of every month. Celebrate cycling and help make our presence felt.
I knew instinctively about leg extention when adjusting the saddle. It just felt better.
I just fell off my bike because I didn’t account for the wet downhill asphalt. Nice road rash all over my knees, palm, and hip
His fall, at the beginning, looked really funny. Great humor guys.
Im just learning how to bike i dont even know how to put my feet on the pedals i will edit when i know how to ride
Efit-
I know how to ride know
Good luck 😁

*When you're cycling and your check engine light is on*
3 tips for SW FL, USA cyclists...1. forget the blouse, and just use a fluorescent mesh vest (its freakin' hot in Summer!!) 2. cycle 1-hour before sunsets. 3. quit looking at YT-vids about cycling. :-) buona fortuna!!!
Thank you for this video! I learned not to trust the breaks the hard way when i went downhill to fast so i decided to brake but i flew off my bike.
In 5 hours of Ubereats, I bike around 20 miles around the city, stopping and starting at lights really use way too much energy. Always find myself eating a sandwich halfway through the shift
The only disadvantage for me is that I tend to lose a lot of weight cycling. Now I have made it a weekend thing than a daily sport.
Always pump your tires to pressure just before the ride
Gotta love how her saddle is too high in the clips right after telling us that the saddle shouldn't be too high...
Thanks guys great video and you add bits of humor as well.👏👏
I used to be walking for about 3 months home an hour and a half every night from work because public transport doesn't work at such hours.
Though, riding a bicycle definitely spices up my boring life with some adrenaline.
how did he pull out the underwear ? man, you are talented.
This made my day LOL
He watched Zoolander too many times lol
Even MORE talented if he pulled out HER underwear...with her prior consent, of course.;)
I literally just started biking for fun- bikes are hard to control as my age is a little..to small for the size of my bike.
That’s cool you’re still going for it! Maybe you’ll grow into it. 🙂
Danielle Rodgers thankz
O.K. You got the two replacement tubes, the tire levers and the pump. You forgot the guy who changes the tire(s).
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The very last rule dosent really apply if you are commuting or mountainbiking
or if you have a mudbutt
@@Filming_Scene haha is mudbutt what i think it is? Not native english speaker😅
02:13 what brand cycling cap is that
This is helpful. Saved👍🏿
anyone recognise the location with the rolling hills and stone wall?
It's near Kendal in the Lake District
It's kind of near Kendal, but nearer to Kirkby Lonsdale, and it's not the Lake District. Barbondale is part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is a beltin' dale to ride your bike up and down. Specially down (once you deal with the peaky little climb out of Gawthrop).
CW: nice video all the same.
Thank god for the sunny southern california weather 😎
If there's a sudden downpour 2:28 ..... There's a drip outside your door 😂😂😂
best video you guys have done. thanks.
IMHO
'older guys' did not have as much choice as there was hardly anything affordable in shops in the old days unlike nowadays when you are spoiled for choice but at the same time you cannot be sure what you are buying and how long it has been sitting and where. the maintenance of a tyre will slightly vary according to the TPI and intensity of use.
Hi, how to start riding and the saddle is correct but high ?
Straddle over your bike, put your leading foot on the pedal (make sure it's at 3 o'clock too), stand on said pedal (this will get the bike going & elevates yourself too) then sit on the saddle and you're off.
Excellent advice. Thanks.
Where was this filmed, it looks terrific!
Richard M The late district I think.
@Christopher I think you meant "the Lake District," in England.
Jason Hart yeah i did
3:59 "Keep your eyes on the road ahead"
*guy beside her immediately takes his eyes off the road ahead*
Great Info video... Thanks..
Yes, and when you ride in a group make sure you signal to your rear riders when you get out of the saddle or take a spit
wow nice tips ...will really help to improve my cycling
I have to subscribe ... Good Stuff ... I like they way they present ...
I love riding my bike it’s fun
every time I adjust my "saddle" when I sit on It, it slides down how do I fix this?
Top SunBro Use super glue.
Assembly compound, it increases grip, also tighten the bolt a bit more.
Disregard what these idiots are telling you about using solvents, it means your seat post clamp isn't tight enough, just tighten it. Superglue won't even slightly hold your seat post in place and can get you seriously injured.
anyone know where this was filmed?
earth
@Hobby England...
Thanks for this video.
I bought a 26T MTB today..frame size of 38.1 cm..my height is 5ft 7 inches..
Did I made the right choice?? Seems a little small for me while riding.
Is this filmed in Lake District?
Nice video with excellent content, well done all of you.
