Thank you very much. I'm about to get someone to do the install for me. Dude is very adamant about accessories being better than battery hardwiring. But the way you explained it, made me think that there shouldn't be a debate.
Had mine professionally installed last week. Works great! I hope they come out with a software update that would provide rear reverse detection sounds. Even when you adjust the reverse camera to it's lowest visual setting. The car behind you for example, still appears as if it's bumper to bumper to your vehicle. I'm sure I'll get use to gauging the distance soon enough. Great video!
I believe the GPS needs to be on the dash with the 'up' bit pointing at the sky rather than it being where you installed it. It's looking for satellites and you have it pointing in to the car.
I think a major smartphone corporations like samsung and apple do a partnership with wolfbox creating better rearview dashcam. The tech is available if we got smartphones like S23 or iphone 15 that take brilliant pictures and video. Thank you for your video.
Nice review; however you did not cover the way to use the G900 as a replacement mirror to include removing the old mirror and mounting the G900 instead of having the G900 banded over the old mirror.
Can you please be more specific in your explanation. I have the Mercedes arm attached to the mirror and the front image is totally blocked by the plastic cover on the windshield.@@bolivarharrigan6027
I have this same van and want to do this upgrade. My question is this: if I want to keep the display off so it functions as a normal rear view mirror (I have kids), will it activate the backup cam when backing up even if I don’t have the screen on beforehand? You know, sort of how other backup cams are off until backing up.
Do you know if there's a way to remove the splash screen? I only wanted it for the rearview functionality but its a pain in the ass it takes quite a few secs to power up, because I wired it so it only turns on when putting reverse
I love the dash cam nice build quality and resolution. I do have an issue with the reversing line set up of not being able to adjust the bottom left hand movement point adjustment any more as it is too close to the return to menu arrow. Every time i try to move it, i get sent back to the main menu.. does anyone have a solution i might try to reset this.. i have tried the reseting to defaut option in the main menu.. but it does not reset the movement points just the camera options.
Thank you for your video! I personally find it very informative and detailed! May I have a question about connecting the mirror dash cam to the rear camera? If my car already has a back up camera and I want to use that one, can I still connect the red wire to the rear camera so that I can have a wider angle from the mirror dash cam and still use the car’s screen for reverse parking (I mean can I see both the car’s screen and the mirror dash cam at the same time)? OR I actually have to trade it off for only being able to see from the mirror dash cam and can no longer use the original rear camera that my car has for reverse parking?
i’m sold on this thing as long as you can turn that damn startup chime and all the other sounds off. i’d pull it apart and take the speaker out if i had to. i know you get the audio from your recordings playing back but it’s just not worth it

I do not perfectly understand what you mean but you can unplug the reverse camera from the unit. You can also switch which screen you want to be shown on the unit. You could turn off the unit and use the mirror like appearance as a rearview mirror. Hopefully one of those answers your question.
I think that’s intentional, so it records even when it’s off. I haven’t installed mine yet but I believe if you attach the wire that was dedicated to “always on” to one of the “accessory” for the fuses (to where both is on accessory), it will prevent that and only work when the car is on.
