My 335i has the same power output, but the N54 engine just produces a way better sound than the newer BMW I6 engines, sorry to say. It sounds almost like a Supra with downpipes.
Nontheless this M2 makes a nice effort.

Jones Nobs i think its the other way around. The N54 as a biturbo has complete different sound signature. Yeah it sounds like a supra, which is very nice imo. But sadly its far away from reaching a compareable poweroutput, when upgraded.

Are you sure you know what you are talking about? If you really want to, you can get in between 800-1000 hp on an N54 with a few mods. I'd say that's pretty comparable. However I do prefer the legendary 2JZ as well.
New ECU, single turbo conversion, bigger intercooler, catless exhaust system etc. However the power delivery won't be anywhere as smooth as around 300-500 hp. But then again some people enjoy the turbo lag and hearing it spool.
