I know this is 3 years old, you must have been right on this when it was released, I did the Uber Pretzel for the first time yesterday and it was a brute. I was lucky during the sandy flats I found a group to go with so saved some time there - didn't change the bike for the jungle that's a nice tip. Got to the Alpe in 4 hours 30 minutes but then had nothing left, the Alpe was a real struggle, ended up cursing and hobbling around after about 6 hours and 15 minutes. Ah well, I made it, and that's what counts. I considered doing 100 miles for about 0.225 of a second before comon sense got the better of me and I ordered a large peperoni pizza and cold beer!
Haha, that's the way to finish it. The food part, at least. Finding a group to follow on the flats helps a lot, you go fast but don't spend as much energy, and the Alpe at the end is just the killer feature, as you feel you're so close in distance but it can take quite a while. I'll be repeating the effort soon to record the route without HUD, we'll see how it goes...
victor morales I’m going to finish my Fondo training next Friday so I’m going for the long ride on the Saturday. How many times did you change the bike on your ride? To be honest I had not thought bout changing it but it does make sense
Thanks, useful to see this. I'm thinking of doing it this weekend. Can I ask what the bike changes you made were? You didn't go for a tron after the Volcano?
Switch to any mountain bike at the beginning of the dirt road, and it should give you better performance than a road bike. Once you're back to the tarmac, switch back to a road bike and you should be fine. Enjoy the suffering!
@@AlejandroMallea Thanks! Did the Mega last week so might as well up the suffering this week!. And really helpful vid to visualize the whole course like this not in real time.

Nice cherry on top at the end!
Fantastic well done!
30 mın faster than me even without a group; well done
Cheers, but I don't think I could do the same right now, and it's just crazy how much faster it can be with a good group.
Wow what a ride. FYI I didn't know you could swap out bikes whilst on a ride.
To get the wheels at the top as well.. GG
Found my challenge for the end of grand frondo training

How do you turn on that data scrolling left to right on the bottom on the screen?
It should be on by default on Zwift, but there's an icon in the form of a graph to enable it and disable it as well.
Was switching to a MTB for the Jungle Route worth it?
Yes, it's much faster for the gravel part of the route.
