The Story of the 1994 New York Rangers Stanley Cup Championship
Good to see Al hosting, such a group of excellence. These Men are NYR legends.
Little did he know he would be fired less than a year later. Sad.
something happened to him prior to the firing?
What a fabulous team and tribute to the ‘94 team❤🤍💙
HAHAHAHA @ Matteau!! "while i was waiting, nobody wanted to score, so...i'm an unselfish person. i gave them a period to do it...it was past my bedtime"
gotta love him😂 class act
Brought tears to my eyes!
I was 5years old, wearing them full pajamas with feets, watching them win on those big back TV's which was the best that any 1 could get at the time. We've got something SPECIAL building again here! #LFGR
Amazing, amazing video! I remember every moment of that year. Let's go Rangers!
I don't know if anybody else can tell but the way the Rangers are built this year is basically the way the Rangers were built in 94. You can go from player to player it's very close
I Loved this team and watched every game.
Awesome video, and I owe all the greatest memories of my life to these guys...but it would've been nice to hear something from Lidster as well. Every player was a key piece to the puzzle. Amazing team and something I will never forget living through. Thanks everyone! LFGR!!
What a historic franchise filled with championships and a winning that can not be beat by anyone in professional sports.
Still gives me chills 🎉
What a treasure
I s will tell my grandson a outy the cup winning team Brian is about six months old
Mike Hartmann still looks tough.
Why is Bruce Willis sitting as the Rangers head coach in this video? 😂
LOL GLEN HEALY!! 14:56
this what ranger fans hang their hats on one cup in 84 years with lots of rent a players who only played half or quarter of season with the team. a one and done team 🤣
After the cup Neil Smith turned into Trader Phil. Overhauled the whole team at the deadline.
Legends?
Tikkanen has a huge chewing tobacco upper lip😅🇫🇮👍

Didn't, "...last a lifetime," huh?
Keep reliving the last stanley cup when you can't win another.
lol hahaha right it's like image the Yankees doing this! LOL I am a big Ranger fan btw
@@josefnitervol6415 I'm a Ranger fan also but it's funny to watch
@@nemonucliosis still it's awesome
KOVALEV is older no!
Trading Zubov was a disaster. Luc was so gutless in NY and sucked. Amonte was one thing but we won a CUP. Dealing Zubov and not resigning Pat Verbeek was a disaster!
Good point
@@billybenden4431 Pat Verbeek fit like a glove with Messier and was special with skill and grit. To let him walk was ridiculous and Zubov and Leetch on the points on the PP was a level behind Orr and Park with Boston for 10 games but still awesome. In 10 games together, Orr had 5 goals and 18 points and Park had 4 goals and 9 points. 9 goals from two defenseman in 10 games and Orr was not even healthy and Park only played 56 combined games with knee issues.
@@jacksmith5692 what the he'll were they thinking 🤔
@@billybenden4431 I know I was furious and the team never recovered. Lucky Luc was shitty Luc in NY and suddenly goes back to LA and is scoring goals. He was totally gutless in NY and impotent and Pat Verbeek was perfect with Messier. Over 40 goals and 80 points with 129 penalty minutes in only 69 games and 51 goals in 88 games playing with Messier to finish 1995 and then 1995/96. The 96 Rangers had 96 points and the 97 fell to 86 points and then sucked for 7 years until the lockout. Neil Smith killed the Rangers with some horrible deals and drafts.
@@jacksmith5692 Smith did bring us Messier and a Cup.
If Kennan was around for his entire contract he would have won a few more than the Islanders did in the 80's.
Huge Rangers fan here- I think that’s wishful thinking. The core of the Rangers after 94 was still intact: Mess, Leetch, Graves, Richter- and some of the foot soldiers stayed around for another few seasons (Larmer before he retired, Matteau, Noonan, Zubov before he was traded, Buek, Lowe) and even with some of those guys gone the Rangers picked up some seasoned vets - Robitaille, Samuelson, Verbeek, even Gretzky- and none of those teams , while pretty good (the 96 team finished top 5 I think and they made the ECF in 97) but I don’t think any of those seasons the Rangers at their best (even if they had Keenan) would’ve bested the Lindros led Flyers, or those stacked Detroit or Avalanche teams even if they got out of the East. They did beat Devils in 96- but for the most part the Devils were more successful in the latter half of the 90’s. I don’t think Keenan hanging around would’ve garnered them 4 more cups.
@@andyorenzo2449 True plus he was erratic.
