If you're looking for a solid race to run your first 50K, here's one: ruclips.net/video/uIuUOvMRieI/видео.html

Haha, just randomly found your vid as I’m 2 months before the Panoramalauf rund um die Burg Are (Aug 31st). Looking forward to seeing you there for the K54.
Another great reason for Innsbruck is that there is a night train from northern Germany directly to Innsbruck.

I am wildly disappointed I can’t go this year 😭. Have a wedding that same weekend. But will make it a priority next year. Really want to do it again after having some years of experience under my belt now with distances and actual fueling strategies.
I just finished an ultra in Macedonia (video soon!) and have a short 25K in a couple weeks in Minnesota 🇺🇸 then nothing until the Berlin Marathon. But might consider picking up another trail race in October / November!

Love this! Some great suggestions, thanks.
Not quite as glamorous as mainland Europe, but we have some great races here in England. I’d highly recommend the Arc of Attrition down in Cornwall. The south west coast path is stunning, yet brutally tough and technical. The event is really well organized and the support around the course is great. I’ve done the 50 but going back in January to take on the 100.

Looks like a great race! I’ll just be landing in Nairobi when the start kicks off, but I have noticed that England has a good number of races. Would love to get to one next year!

Never heard of it but I’ve got it open and saved now! Always loved traveling to Poland so this is easily on my shortlist for July. Thanks for sharing!

Salomon one (30k) is just awesome, hard (many great uphills and fast downhills) with great views! If You want to compete in something fast Golden Halfmarathon is the way@@BaurJoe

I did the Laugavegur Ultra in Iceland last July, enjoyed it very much, and am thinking of doing a repeat in 2024.

Oooo no joke, my wife and I have our eye on that one. Glad to hear it's a good one! So far we've just got one outside of Barcelona booked in early March. But we're only in the early stages of planning 2024. More to come!

This is great. Really cool video...I'm based in Zürich so, like you, have straightforward access to huge chunks of Europe. Still exploring the glorious Swiss trails for now though! Heading south for a spring event to escape the cold/gloom sounds like a great plan.

Nice! I have a fondness for the Swiss trails as well (my surname is of the Swiss variety). My first Swiss race was the UTMB one in Verbier (some of that footage is earlier in this video), so would love to do a local Swiss race sometime! But yeah, definitely give Hydra a look if you want a spring race to train for.
