    @ 0:12 (I think...I can't quite capture it!) She turns right and front as fast as an owl's head. That right there scared me. Then @ 0:20 she does something in a split second that is incomprehensible. The rest was just gravy which any normal human being would avoid like death. I like to believe that she originally had an opponent who made a quick exit at 12 seconds into her kata.

      @@timc28 I would be more happy with this perspective if it didn't take 100s of Kung Fu practitioners getting there asses kicked in mixed martial arts tournaments before they had the humility to realize that sucked at fighting. They would have argued up and down in less than the last 20 years that they wouldn't get curbed stomped by a novice fighter.

      That's not about real fighting, it's about doing a form, which is just one discipline of Kung Fu. It's about getting to know your body and possible movements, that teach you flexibility, consciousness, strength, quickness and especially body control (what would be all useful in a fight). You can either specialize on fighting or on walking forms (or on other disciplines), so martial arts is not all about fighting.

    • @eaglevision9791
      @eaglevision9791 Год назад

      Winning or losing would depend on who she’s fighting. Does her enemy, in combat, have similar training? Can her enemy match her concentration, balance, flexibility, discipline and overall preparation?
      Being skilled at jumping rope and punching a speed bag doesn’t mean a boxer will win a heavyweight title…but it’s certainly beneficial to the process.

    • @peaceonearth8693
      @peaceonearth8693 Год назад +1

      It might help to notice that this wasn't combat. It was a nice dance. You might consider that "forms" often just illustrate principles, and it sometimes takes an experienced eye to understand what the core purpose of the move was.

    • @WelfareChrist
      @WelfareChrist Год назад

      Yeah the contest is for 'wushu routines' not combat. I think there's a great deal of combat training everywhere that goes out the window in a real fight. Mike Tyson said "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth."
