    Loved the video.... minor item to be careful on. Scaling the drawing you selected a line that was 28'-6" and then plugged in 28.6 feet. Should have typed 25.5 feet. Minor item that should not affect any of your results. I'm just nerdy enough to catch this type of detail :-)

      Ah yes, thanks for pointing that out! Couldn't remember if EASE used foot-inches or a true decimal.

    Michael, that is a great video. I have purchased your courses. They have helped a lot. I know you are super busy but think of doing a course on Focus 3 and SMAART. Thank you for your great work brother.

    I hope you can discuss maximum gain before feedback. I'm struggling with choir mic because of the long distance to the mouth to the mic position. But this discussion will be interesting. Thank you.

    Awesome video, thank you very much. I started to experiment, and realized there was an "Auto splay" option for line arrays, which works really well. Don't you know why they don't have an 'auto align' function or similar for loudspeakers, to calculate the optimal rigging height AND vertical tilt without needing to "eyeball" it? It would be so much easier...!

    Would love to see you do our room, back in 2006 a integrator installed JBLVRX932 in L/R with 2 boxes on a side in our low ceiling room and it sounds awful and has a huge volume/intelligibility drop off after the 4/5 row but slams the 2nd/3rd row
    Was looking at point source with delay fills to even it out. 80x60 long room side with 12' trim height.
    Would be cool to send over the Google sketch up of it

    how do i design an Audiance Zone as an Open Air field or Freefield area without "walls" is there a way to tell Ease focus that there shall be no ground or side reflections?

    Great video! Could you do a video on basically the same thing but if you are not allowed to fly any speakers? So with speakers on sticks only at normal speaker stand height? Would delays be needed, and how you would go about deciding on the placement for speakers.

    • @MichaelCurtisAudio
      @MichaelCurtisAudio  7 месяцев назад +1

      That's a great idea. I don't have a single video that talks through all of that, but a few others that tackle your question in pieces:
      Delay Speakers | Selection, Placement, and Time Alignment - ruclips.net/video/OFDcRXXEVbo/видео.html
      Speaker Placement Basics For Small Concerts, DJ's, and Portable Churches - ruclips.net/video/OeaMtRvIysM/видео.html
      My paid 2hr system tuning workshop uses a speakers-on-sticks setups with a few subs and a front fill as its test case - www.producedbymkc.com/systemtuningworkshop

      @@MichaelCurtisAudio Thanks! I've already seen your videos on those, but a simple all in one video in ease focus that incorporates delay speakers and just general placement using low speaker heights would be cool! Do the same principles for aiming speakers apply when on stands? Should I use the 7.5° angle or not on the k12 and similar speakers etc.

    Good afternoon. Thank you for the video. I am sorry for my English. I have a question. In such a project, how can one align (in time) the central cluster relative to the main loudspeaker? Where to place the measuring microphone? How to find the point where these two elements (main and center) will work at the same volume (level)? Where to go? After all, you can move from the central cluster to the main one (from the center to the side) and this point will be there. Or you can do it in the center, from the first rows to the middle of the hall, and there will also be a moment when the center moves into the operating area of the main loudspeaker. How correctly and in what cases? Thank you!

    I have a doubt. If there's lets say 2 audience zones and the sound system is setup and tuned for those 2 zones, how does a mixing engineer mix properly if the console is at the center and at the back of the hall?

    is there a way to search the EASE Focus Speaker library by coverage angle? I'm trying to build the room of a church I am working with. The speakers they have are the Electro Voice Sx100+, which have a coverage angle of 65 x 65. That specific speaker I don't believe is in the library. So a way to search the Library by coverage angle would be super helpful. Any ideas?

    • @keeganmccarthy6756

      In fact, I'm not even seeing the coverage angle of any speaker I bring into my design. I must be missing something!

    Hi Michael, what's the reason for having your centre fill 13f in the air instead of having it on front stage centre and pointing it directly into the audience? Do you find it easier to time align it to the Main LR?

    • @AaronNguyen79
      @AaronNguyen79 6 месяцев назад

      Forget it. I just realised it's a centre fill instead of front fill :)

    Just curious why you selected the Fulcrum CX loudspeakers instead of the CCX. Seems like for this application the CCX may be more advantageous?

    • @rddye1
      @rddye1 7 месяцев назад

      Also, along that same logic, you could use their passive cardioid subwoofer in the center flown position.

    • @MichaelCurtisAudio
      @MichaelCurtisAudio  7 месяцев назад

      You're absolutely right, could have definitely rolled with the CCX series as well as one of their passive cardioid subs.
      I chose the CX series for this demo to keep the total price tag closer to what the client had allocated since the passive cardioid speakers are more expensive.

    Do you account for audience height when making these calculations? Especially in low trim height situations?

    • @MichaelCurtisAudio
      @MichaelCurtisAudio  7 месяцев назад

      Absolutely! And like you mentioned, it matters all the more in low trim height since that simple change from sitting to standing is a much larger delta as a percentage of the total trim height.
      It's something I didn't cover here, but should have. I'm almost positive this was done with a standing audience.

    • @ericdeweese3748
      @ericdeweese3748 7 месяцев назад

      @@MichaelCurtisAudio it is possible that you did it with standing height, I couldn't tell when watching what height your probes were set. I just generally shoot for seated height on axis at furthest distance and go from there. I did like seeing your general process starting out with the initial design.

    Hi folks! I'm getting this error msg whenever I import gll files of some of the speakers
    "The following System Definition is not licensed for the current version of the application: SRX910LA EASE GLL V1.0.gll. Please contact the supplier of the GLL data file for more information and possible updates."
    Can someone help me navigate it ?
    Cheers !!!

    • @MichaelCurtisAudio

      TL;DR - you can only use the SRX910LA GLL files in the paid version of EASE. However, JBL's new Venue Synthesis software now has their SRX line array speakers built in.
