I love how the marimba is highlighted in this piece. not many performances think to put marimba in the forefront other than percussion ensembles but this performance definitely is deserving to have marimba take front of the stage.
An interesting piece, beautifully performed by Julia Tan on what is a far-from-easy instrument. I hope to see more by her in future. Great work by the orchestra, too.
This is definitely one of the higher quality videos of this concerto on youtube, but the best performance is by Christoph Seitzen. He has his own youtube channel. That man has outshined every other performance of this concerto on youtube by a LONG SHOT. I suggest watching his recording, it will bring you to tears
