Aside from the wonderful steamers, diesel, and Doodlebug, I love the track; the earlier low rail height giving the IMPRESSION of gauge being wider than standard..I just love to look at track...I tells a story to me....the way it meanders on the creaky wood ties and the weeds caring not that a behemoth train will soon cover it...Know what I mean ? And what a thing of beauty Pacific 1286 is, with her white walls !!! Thanks for these wonderful photos of a time when railroading had real heart and soul......
Really nice. I drive through harford & Baltimore counties in the area where the Ma&Pa ran. Lots of remaining stations and structures along with the rail trail. I also enjoyed a visit to muddy creek forks as a kid. I enjoyed the video montage.
Great video! But especially, thank you for the slide show in part 4. I grew up near the yard which crosses Queen St in York. I walked those tracks many many times on my way to school. Priceless moments of the past captured in time. I’ll always cherish the Ma & Pa Railroad. Thank you for making and sharing this video.
My family moved from York to Red Lion in Sept of 78. The Ma & Pa station in Red Lion was still open for business. Alas they closed their doors in Nov of 80. Tore the last stretch of their tracks up in 1987.
Love the footage in part 3. As someone who has spent a lot of time around tourist railroads it is fun to see the crew working around the locomotive doing things so quickly yet very smoothly.
Love the "bumble bee" color schemes. For some reason I tend to like any yellow paint scheme such as D&RG, UP, Milwaukee ... Ma & Pa. Your sound effects are upper class, almost Pullman luxury sleeping class standards :) Thanks for this.
not sure if you guys gives a shit but if you are stoned like me atm then you can watch pretty much all of the new series on Instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my brother during the lockdown :)
An interesting abandoned section in an area called Laurel Brook, Harford County, Md. is a great little hike. There are bits of the original narrow gauge bed still visible near the later standard gauge bed.
Well that was a learning experience. Now I know why so many of the old timers liked the Ma & Pa. They ran steam fan trips. Did not know that. I knew George Hart ran 1251 there a short while and a few years ago learned another of a little engine a prairie or mogul or something. I noticed you didn't have a shot of that. Its reportedly pretty much junk now I hear. But never knew he had his Pacifics there. I was aware he had them in Jim Thorpe awhile before he sadly sold them off for whatever reason. Then Jack Showalter had them & now they've gone elsewhere. Then his 972 and later 1098 which was short lived. Guessing he never made out well enough to cover bigger rebuilds?? Anyway nice video. Someone could probably write a good book on George Hart and his Railtours he did alot in his lifetime. Maybe a combined book on the 3 big preservationists of the northeast Hart, Benson, and Rowland. Nelson Blount and his Steamtown already had a book written about him many years ago.
I would love to see more Ma and Pa content! Such a beautiful and underrated railroad.

Love the sound effects of the old gasoline-electric railcar spluttering into life ☺

The GP 7 (12:54 on) is at the Reading Railroad Heritage Museum in Hamburg Pa. Repainted back in its original scheme as Reading 621.
Purchased in the late 70's & numbered it into 86.

Thanks for the testimonial.
The color scheme was actually navy blue and yellow, not black. Not quite "bumblebee" but good nonetheless.
Good bye yesterday , goodbye tomorrow , fear the choices we make today .
Don’t worry ! East versus West ! In the End WE ALL loose! Enjoy the Moment!! Lol
I was sad there was no footage of the station in Baltimore. Which is now the trolley museum.
Superb once more and a tremendous job by the sound effects department, I hope you're paying them well.
I pay them equally to my own pay. They seem to be well satisfied. Thanks for the comment.

@Brady Kyree Yup, have been watching on instaflixxer for since november myself =)
THANK YOU!!! Amazing man, greatest railroad of all time ;)
That is so cool! It’s sad thinking most of this line is abandoned..

In the Gegortown and Red forge railroad on roblox the railroad is based on Maryland and Pennsylvania railroad and they also have M@P 84 there to
I seen 5 pieces of ballast

1286 went back home to Canada after Showalter passed.
It purchased a fleet of Boxcars in the late 70's.Wearing Navy Blue. They later appeared systemwide.
Had massive Trestles on line.
You don’t happen to have any additional footage of Reading 1251 operating on the Ma & Pa, do you?
If I did it would be in the video. thanks for watching.
its sad theres no video of Red Lion PA in the 1940s
Was the turntable around 9:36 in delta?
No, that was York.
