One of Queen’s most tender ballads, “Love of My Life” became a crowd singalong favorite, and for many shows Freddie would let the audience take on long sections. It was particularly well-loved in South American, where the live version was released as a single (our vocalist Martín Guas hails from La Planta, Argentina). The melody is instantly singable and deceptively simple, contrasting with the carefully concealed but brief key changes toward the end of each verse, and in the bridge’s lead up to “I still love you.” There are clear classical influences in the song - some people hear Chopin - so our version, arranged by Malaysian student Li-Anne Kong, is scored for a small chamber music ensemble of strings, harp, and piano, providing a tranquil and sensitive underscore for Guas’s tender lead vocal.

Love of My Life is one of my favourite songs...
Alright! My favorite Queen song! And beautifully done.... not to mention the picture of Freddie on the piano. Just the right touch.
I generally dislike covers, but stumbled over this after watching a Berklee ensemble performance of Frank Zappa’s Waka Jawaka (most excellent!). This arrangement and performance is stunning! From the opening cello passage to the so very tender vocal, it really touched me. I’ve been a fan of Queen since they first appeared and I’m also a Jazz Performance grad, so can be very picky. I can’t give anything but total praise for this. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I can't believe this vid hasn't yet reach 1M🥺 I really love this cover
