The most beautiful thing about Congratulations is that you can HEAR the emotion. The utter anger and sadness and confusion of being left and having a partner see someone else almost instantly, meanwhile you are still weeping. Even without subtitles you can still hear the rawness coming out of their voices. It sounds so real. It sounds like someone who’s been through actual heartbreak is singing this song to their partner. That’s why i appreciate and love Congratulations so much. It’s definitely on another level. This was a FANTASTIC song to debut with. DAY6 are incredible
Why Congratulations is superior imo - The fact that it's their debut song - The final song they come up with after 1-2 years of writing songs before able to debut - Choi Woo Shik acts in the mv - Usually debut song can be quite embarrassing for groups(the style or genre), but Congratulations is receiving so much love until now. - The song they share a lot of sentiments with My Days, especially in concerts when everyone is singing together💛

probably... safe to say, one of the best debut songs. Most groups rarely have a debut song so good that it sounds refreshing and mature musically in the same way this song is. that's just an honest opinion, having been a kpop fan for many years. so good, this song
JYP in general have really strong debuts (look at Miss A, Twice, G. Soul) but sometimes their follow-up singles aren't as good. With DAY6, this is by far one of the strongest debuts and they followed it up with amazing tracks, that I even applaud on the b-sides.
It's impressive how the same song with just 2 language versions make us feel different emotions. I think that the korean ver. sounded angry and disappointed while the english ver. sounded more heartbroken, sad, and pleading

Sorry to say ,but did you know about g-idle ? Soyeon, who was the leader of the group, was the one who composed the song for their own group debut, because at that time Cube Ent. they don't have a song to debut G-idle yet, and finally all their hard work paid off and they became famous even at that time they were called being called rookie monsters. Until now, She is the one who always makes songs for her own grub every time he wants to make a comeback again. I think it's very rare for idols to be like that (creating their own songs) because it's the duty of their respective agencies (because they are under a contract)
Lets talk about Why does this song sound so sacarstic when they're congratulating smwn but at the same time like they are criticising the same person...I love how relatable this is.
The girl was in the wrong though. She said for them to take a break and think about their relationship and give some time, and he took it literally and waited for her and without any explanation to him, especially since he's been calling, she went and got another boyfriend. And for him to see her with another boyfriend so quickly, he's angry and hurt cause she never told them they were over and all this time he trusted her words and believed they'd get back together. So this song represents the anger they felt towards their ex for lying and moving on so quickly when he had no idea.
I remember finding this video through Terry when it came out and only had 70,000 views, Terry was so excited that Brian finally debuted! I loved this song and MV so much I showed it to dozens of friends that week lol 2 days ago I saw DAY6 live for the first time at DAY6 YOUTH in LA, and when they performed Congratulations it brought me back to 2015 and thinking of how far DAY6 has come since the n... Now this MV has 20 million views, Brian transformed into YoungK and wrote countless songs, and DAY6 has gone on countless tours and stages all around the world Thank you DAY6 for pouring your heart into music and performing, MyDays are in your youth and DAY6 is in our youth~

It's clear that many people in the comment section have not witnessed how great One Day (2PM+2AM) are together. These guys are the new generation of JYP, and JYP has always been known for how tight knit their groups are. GOT7 and DAY6 are good friends, their fans should mirror that! probably... safe to say, one of the best debut songs. Most groups rarely have a debut song so good that it sounds refreshing and mature musically in the same way this song is. that's just an honest opinion, having been a kpop fan for many years. so good, this song
JYP in general have really strong debuts (look at Miss A, Twice, G. Soul) but sometimes their follow-up singles aren't as good. With DAY6, this is by far one of the strongest debuts and they followed it up with amazing tracks, that I even applaud on the b-sides.

Soyeon, who was the leader of the group, was the one who composed the song for their own group debut, because at that time Cube Ent. they don't have a song to debut G-idle yet, and finally all their hard work paid off and they became famous even at that time they were called being called rookie monsters. Until now, She is the one who always makes songs for her own grub every time he wants to make a comeback again. I think it's very rare for idols to be like that (creating their own songs) because it's the duty of their respective agencies (because they are under a contract)

for me day6 is the best rookie of the year... jyp, please promote them more, i want more people to enjoy their angelic voice and music.. mostly here are jyp stans because u don't really promote them
They have tons of gigs here and there, they have radio appearances, they even did busking last Sunday. They are being promoted, just not the way an idol is promoted

+mira lee i don't know how you can say that coz those are enough to be visible and be recognized. we have to keep in mind that they are a band and not an IDOL group. being invited in music festivals and performing in clubs is the beat way to promote them.
This is how korean music work, how well they are recognize by korean people is depends on their rank on music chart, thats the fact ok (not music show)... I know they just debut and jyp want them to be recognize as a band but still the way they are being promoted is not smart enough i think, i'm just saying my opinion ok, hoping that jyp will read it... chills girl, why so serious~...

I dont know what kind of promotion you mean, but I assume you mean music show. Music shows have limitation for live performance. So when Day6 try to be artist, do you think it is okay to do handsync?
It will vanish all of effort that they give when making this album. It will wate their talent. They want to be recognised as artists and they ALWAYS want to give live performance. As fans, the only thing that we can do is giving them support.
Attend festival music may gain new fans, especially for college student (imo).
yesterday was Day6's Youth concert in Toronto and before performing this song, Youngk said "the next one is our debut song" and i turned to my friend and asked her, is it really? when did this come out? I was so confused this is actually their debut song.. ITS BEEN THREE YEARS ALREADY

I stopped checking out rookie groups a while ago because they were getting too repetitive, but omg for some reason I clicked this and Im so glad I did! this group seems really cool, can someone tell me do they actually play instruments or is it just the concept? a lot of groups do the 'band' concept for like one song then stop and I wish there were more actual bands in kpop :(
They actually played the instruments like cnblue and ftislands. They even wont promote in music shows like other bands cuz they dont let bands play instruments live.

JYPE want them to follow the indie band direction rather than idol group so I dont know if they will ever join variety shows and stuffs
