- Tales of Symphonia overdose. I really do hope this video reaches people who know and love the game and the OVA as much as I do.
This song is just amazing, and I knew I couldn't continue living on this planet until I edited to it. So here we are. 9/10 of my guinea pig beta testers gave their blessing to the video, so yay time to go public.
So hey. Tales of Symphonia is a wonderful game and there's an incredible anime of it. If you have not yet seen it, go watch it, it is SO worth your time.
This video was very difficult to edit because there is SO much to this story and fitting it all in one video felt almost impossible. I had to cut out a LOT of things, but I think I got all the important things in it and hopefully the storytelling is clear.

First impressions: At first this seemed like a generic song pasted on generic footage, but this thought was pushed back quite soon. Or maybe that was the reason why this combination works so well. After that, the first viewing was simply me admiring the editing.
Now, this is the type of AMV I really like. It has pretty much all the elements what I look for in an AMV. Base music/footage combination works, it has a story arc, it has good pacing and editing is just balanced. What I really want to mention is how well the edits and pacing follows/uses the song!
I'm not familiar with Tales of Symphonia nor the song used, so I'm sure I miss some details from the story arc so I better not go deeper on that. What I can say that even though I'm not really a target audience for the music nor the series, I can say that I know a good video when I see one! 5/5

Tales of Symphonia is a video game apart of the Tales series- games like Tales of the Abyss, Tales of Phantasia, Tales of Destiny, Tales of Arise, and more- they're all apart of the Tales series. Each of them have really nice opening animations, and the song used is called Starry Heavens- which is one of the ops for Symphonia.
There's an anime for Symphonia, too, but honestly I can't recommend enough that you try to enjoy the story for yourself. It's really nice.
The end credits song is from the opening for the sequel game, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of a New World

シンフォニアってGCとps2で歌違うけど
GCがコレット目線でps2がロイド目線で作詞されてるみたいだけどそれ知ったときすごいと思った！シンフォニアは15年以上経っても自分の中で一番やり込んだゲームで自分が一番大好きなゲーム。声優もアーティストも全て神。
1分から涙あふれて止まらん。
本当にシンフォニアって、人の心についてとか、こう、キャラへの感情移入が特にしやすいんだよな……マジで名作

Honestly one of the best animes. I couldn't play the game as a kid but I loved the anime so much and starry heavens is still such a dear song to me
One thing I really like about this AMV is how it starts with focus Colette and Lloyd's promise and seeing Colette off but then turns around and gives us Martel's death and the Kharlan Quartet for the final repeat of the chorus for maximum pain.

I first played this game when I was at a really low point in my life, filled with depression and self loathing. To this day I have not played a game that has had character who resonated so much with me, as all of the cast struggle with hating themselves or the world around them. Seeing Lloyd help the rest of the party realize their own self worth helped me immensely with mine. This series is very important to me now and especially these characters. I remember I got a streamer to play this game by being in a group call with them and a few other regulars to the stream and showing a youtube video of the opening. They loved it and as soon as the streamer made a mention to "the pain in eyes of the girl with pink hair" I knew they would GET this game, and I actually ended up crying a little with happiness.
Anyway, this video was amazing, very well done. My fave fan video I have seen yet

How have I never found this... Tales of Symphonia was the first Tales game I beat (I'd previously tried Phantasia but got distracted from it). Me and my brother went through together and I remember looking up every Day After Tomorrow song I could find to listen to after hearing Starry Heavens. I've never seen the anime so at first I thought this was a really well made fan drawn video.
Just finished this game for the first time on Steam!
I used to see a mexican gameplayer, he was the only spanish-youtuber that played this at the time (2009-10), and I was too young so didn't knew english at all... But there I was, waiting until 1 A.M. to watch the new video, the new combo he learned, Sheena's Artes, Zelos' jokes, everything. Man the memories, this video made them come back!

They all have their merit, and they're all somebody's favorite.
Tales of Destiny: People can betray you. They can use you and lie to you. But in the end, it's worth to trust the good people in life.
Tales of Rebirth: It's second nature for people to split into groups or races. It's just a mere truth of life, and everybody does it. To rise against that truth is what means to be a truly righteous person.
Tales of Innocence: Your past and your past actions doesn't define who you are today.
I had wondered why they chose this song for the intro. I had read somewhere that it was most likely linked to Kratos often looking at the stars with Lloyd. Now, watching this video, I feel like it links all the pain the characters endured through the journey. Great video with an equally beautiful song.

製作陣側からすると、原点回帰というのはテイルズオブファンタジア何だろうけど(実際ベルセリアはファンタジアと同じ復讐の物語)、私からするとテイルズオブシンフォニアこそが目指して欲しい原点回帰なんですよね。
ロイドの名言一つ一つに、テイルズオブシリーズの素晴らしさが詰め込まれているから。
だからこそ、ロイドの名言を一つにまとめてくれたフィーの名言に、私は妹と一緒に涙ながらに叫びましたよ。

二十年ほど前にコマーシャルかPVで流れてたのを思い出します。「見つけられたら何を祈るだろう」て歌詞が印象に残ってて。こうして聴くとパチスロの押忍！番長の曲に似てますね。媒体は違いますがどちらもいい曲だと思います。

戦乱の元凶である邪悪な種族ディザイアンを勇者ミトスが古代大戦で封印してから四千年後、また復活したディザイアンによって幾度も紛争が起きた。
マナと呼ばれる大地のエネルギーが宿り、世界を守ってきた大樹も何千年にも及ぶ種族争いで枯渇し、再び元凶であるディザイアンが復活したことで、衰退と崩壊の道を辿ろうとしていた。
世界を救済する神子である少女コレットと共に、主人公ロイドはディザイアンを封印して世界を平和に戻す世界再生の旅に出かける。
このゲームは差別とか重たいテーマを扱ってるから暗い話が多いけど、間違いなくテイルズで人気の高いシリーズだよ。
ざっくり言うと天使になって世界を救おうぜって話ですね。
シンフォニアやってた頃はジーニアスより年下だったのに、もうリフィルを超え、クラトスに片足突っ込んでます
