Paolo Nutini brings the great Robbie Burns song, and the time when it was written, alive. I've heard this tune before, sung by the Tannahill Weavers, and I think this tune is beautiful. The Tannahill Weavers version is lovely, of course. This rendition by Paolo Nutini is so full of feeling, so evocative of the spirit of the song, that I feel I am sitting close by listening as he sings and the musicians play. Thank you for the "cup of kindness", for the music, for the meaning. Happy New Year, a wond'rous 2015.
