I switched to a mechanical keyboard a few years back and I love the linear switches over the butterfly switches. Great video, and killer B Roll, that opening shot was chef's kiss!
I keep going back to the mechanical keyboards but I dislike how loud they are. I’ve really become accustomed to the K800 keyboard. Thankfully I have two so when one fully dies, I’ll have a backup… which I haven’t tested in a while. Does it even work? 😅

As you like K800, just buy a small adapter from USB C to micro USB and enjoy. All your complaints are from your habit of using K800. You love it. There is no need to change it because of the cable.
So true! That’s what I’ve been thinking. Keep the K800 and get a micro usb to usb c adapter. Maybe I’ll do that 😊 The keyboard still works great, even after using it for so many years 🎉
fn+esc switch between f keys and media keys. the only thing in your opinion that applies to other people is about adjustable legs

It literally has "fn" in a padlock symbol right there on the escape key to denote "function lock," even.
The problem is once you go K800 you can't go back. Mine died after 14 glorious years. Rip my baby

I switched to a mechanical keyboard with red Outemu switches. I love how it sounds and the extra travel with every key press. But it just slows me down. After using it for almost two years, I'm going back to non mechanical keyboards. I just purchased the MX Keys S today. I don't use the function keys that often and I heard that it's battery life is excellent. Plus I'm already used to the Logi+ software with my MX3 mouse.

You seem like the kind of person who’d like that Das Keyboard.
Considering "slim design" and "low noise" were two key features he was looking for, I don't think he'd like the DAS keyboard. Plus there's a much more competitive landscape nowadays than when DAS literally was _the_ mechanical keyboard fifteen years ago. I would never consider a DAS today when there are so many other custom and semi-custom options that do it as good or better for cheaper.

Great points! Thanks for jumping in to let me know what you think about the DAS keyboard. I've just recently started looking into changing my keyboard after about 10 years of using the same one. I'm definitely not a keyboard enthusiast, so all of the options have been been an... adjustment 😅
How are you able to return it after 2 months? Is the return period in the US 60 days? Here in the UK it is usually 30 days.
The best price at the time I bought it was at Best Buy. I bought it through my membership which allows me to return up to 60 days. I think I returned it on day 58.
Might consider looking at Keychron K5 Pro or Max if you must have a full 100% layout with space between function keys; otherwise the NuPhy Air96 might be an interesting option to look into as a traveling companion with a number pad. Both are slim mechanicals with adjustable feet in back, but Air96 has more interesting switch options. Hipyotech did a review on the Air96 recently.
A few of my friends told me about Keychron after hearing my experience and preference. I'll also check out the NuPhy Air96. Thanks for recommending!
I have the Keychron K5 Pro and I just don't enjoy it. Coming from Apple Macbooks, typing on a mechanical is just painful for me. I bought it precisely for the gaps between F-keys but I don't like it. Nobody makes a full size wireless low profile keyboard with gaps.

The K800 and MX Keys S don't sound similar at all, to my ears. The K800 sounds mushy.
Mushy might be my vibe. I really like how quiet and soft they are. The MX Keys S are also really soft, especially when compared to the Logitech mechanical keyboard (or any mechanical keyboard haha).
The function buttons defaulting to shortcuts is common on all laptop keyboards. You can switch it back to function buttons again by pressing fn key + fn lock (usually left shift key or esc key)
I normally don't use my laptop keyboard and will always travel with an external keyboard. My hands keep hitting the trackpad and move the mouse around, and I also love having a full size keyboard with the number pad.
You're right, for laptop keyboards, the fn+left shift works. Though, I didn't find that worked for me with the Logitech MX Keys S. However, I learned (after returning the keyboard) the fn lock is done by pressing fn+esc on the MX Keys S. Good to know!

tbh i don't really want a bunch of small dots of light on my keyboard.. it's distracting and, imo, annoying. having 3 dots for the battery seems very annoying. if i really want to know the bat %.. i'm pretty sure windows actually tells you the aprox % in the settings->devices section. imo, this is a much better solution.
now the ESC key being that huge.. wtf... that's the dumbest sht i've ever seen. why would logitech do that. that alone is an actual deal breaker. such a moronic thing to do on an otherwise very nice keyboard.
