As a clarinet player in an orchestra, and an audience member at the show, I have to imagine the culture shock for the performers of something like this. We aren't used to audience members singing along, clapping along, cheering as loud as Phish fans do, etc. It's definitely different than anything they've done before or will do again. I'm sure they had tons of fun, but I'm also sure it was strange for those members of the orchestra who are only used to performing in an orchestral setting.

I was talking with my wife about this at setbreak. I'm sure some members of the orchestra are super-psyched and others are like, WTF is this mess? In any case, I think they are all used to it, since they've played with a bunch of popular artists, e.g. Beck, Ben Folds, Killer Mike, Bonny Light Horseman, NAS, Kendrick Lamar, Bob Weir...

I would find it interesting to see the whole band play with the symphony. They should do that sometime!
