I really like this boat...it's good looking and it has great utilization of the interior volume and decent sailing characteristics from the limited amount I've read. Yeah, the interior looks kind of "Ikea-ish", with use of laminates and such, but the base price is about $275K (not that you'd be able to get a boat from a dealer for anywhere close to that price) and you have to limit costs somewhere. I just saw a 2022 470 listed at a local dealer in Newburyport, MA ("coming this Spring") for $380K. It seems like every review I see has early commenters who love to rip the boats apart regarding the use of "cheap materials". Maybe they want dark "real wood" so it looks like a "real boat" inside, but you're going to have to pay for that. I just saw a new 2022 Tartan 395 listed that has beautiful cherry cabinetry and teak/holly cabin sole, but it's listed for $549K...for a boat that's 8' shorter and has 2 cabins and 1 head.

Love this, but it also makes me realize that i prefer a galley and wet area at the bottom of the companion way. I'm thinking of passage making in future. Seriously love this boat though.
I think you'd get used to the galley very fast, as it does make a lot of sense when you think about it. I think that heads/shower just to port at the bottom of the Companionway would address your other Concern? I'm having a heck of a job getting past the Navstation to Port on the Jeanneau S O 490 tbh, with a nice Head/Shower to Starboard at the bottom of the Companionway for Hanging Oilies in to Drip dry. Plus there's a nice mid Cabin Galley Just ahead of the Nav Station (with seats both sides it's a bit of a Breakfast Diner too. the 490 also has a Shoal Draft of 5ft 5", which is about 3" Below Really Pushing my luck. I do not like Twin Rudders at all though, which are a right pita at low speed trying to maneuver safely in Marinas, which makes bow and Stern Thrusters pretty much obligatory. Bow Thruster on the 470 Dufour with Single Spade rudder protected by the Keel and Saildrive should be fine with just a Bowthruster imho. 5ft 8" Shoal Draft though ugh. I suppose I could learn to do some missing out on really nice places to get into and out of. Best Wishes and Fair Winds. Bob. 👍

I have often wondered if a nav station is necessary. The reason is I cruised Folkboats and the slaloon table became the nav station. Not as if you are eating meals from the table while in passage, normally from bowls on your lap. Unless that's my experience.

One less head for a single washer/dryer unit in the owners birth, the double couch needs to go for a nav station. I like this 47, she’s nice.

Nice boat. Galley and head better be located on rear end though. Using head or galley located in front is sometime literally impossible on high waves.

No nav station but a useless double sofa too short for a birth. If they could switch that for a proper nav station that would be great. Love the recycled materials for the sails.

How does this boat generate its own electricity? is there any generator? or does the boat's engine itself also take care of the energy? batteries? if yes, are they possible to load in a crossing? I didn't see any video talking about it, if anyone knows something and can tell me, thanks :)
The electric version has a prop that generates electricity during sailing

No, but nice for drinks in the cockpit at the dock.

We just sailed ours from Annapolis to Florida and had rough conditions rounding Cape Hatteras. I can tell you from experience that she handled everything beautifully. Much better than her crew 😜

@@bartoszszymanski6647 Yes I have sailed in bad weather, but I have never had a boat that was much good for drinks in the cockpit at the dock, so I guess I wouldn't know.
Astonishingly, no one stumbled backwards over the bench at the end of the boat and ended up as shark food while this video was made.
A 47 foot boat that has a large cockpit and sails well in 11 knots and flat water? Not setting the bar very high.

Truly amazing interior, just fabulous how they make it look like it too is recycled plastic.
Ditto re galley position and no opening portlight to vent your cooking smells.
We own hull #10 and actually love the galley position. It’s different but very comfortable to use under sail. Also, there is a port light right above the stove that opens.
Its anoying you never tell what keel and rudder the boats have, yes, 1 rudder, but does it have skeg. Or a big spader rudder? Its 2 very importen parts of a boat and the security.
I don't want recycled stuff on my boat !

Omg, how is this boat beautiful? It seems like the designers have been sleeping for the past 20 years.
The interior of the boat is a little dry and cold, with no real personality. Sort of looks like the designer shopped at IKEA for everything. The outside of the boat looks nice, and really to rock.
REally love this boat but why do you need a sink in the shower compartment? Makes absolutely no sense. I've never gotten out of a shower and felt the urge to wash my freshly showered hands.

Do they think everyone enjoys sailing in the wet and cold? Why is every boat I see has the wheel so far in the rear so as to guarantee a wet and cold steerage?
How about a Blue Water Cruiser with an enclosed Pilothouse you can do everything from?

Not a practical sailboat. More of sunny climate day cruise with limited weather protection for helm, the fact that cold wet conditions will make this boat miserable to tackle.... There's nothing appealing, forget universal ☝️😂
