I hope she's using the methadone to kick an opiate habit but they are hard to wean off of. Addiction sucks but it truly affects people from all walks of life
which is the only way you can get on methadone maintenance anyway. I'm on it and I function like a normal person. I work, I drive, I go to school, take care of my children and my household. TBH I think Roxanne's issue is not being on methadone, it's a mental health issue. Seems like she is in a full manic state!

jades little girl thinks chaos and verbal abuse are normal. I imagine she takes that experience to school with her and shares what she knows -and it isnt well received. Most mommies and daddies dont scream in each other's faces. homeschool isnt the answer....parenting classes might help
Homeschooling is so scary. I was homeschooled and basically didn’t get an education until I signed myself up for college. There are so many true crime stories involving homeschooled children because it’s a great way for ab*sers to get away with things. It should be reserved for specific situations and like you said, the EDUCATORS need to have an EDUCATION degree
My son has additional needs and was constantly being bullied, the school didn't put the correct provisions in place so I homeschool him. I considered changing schools but he was so scarred by him time in school I didn't feel it was an option for him. In England you have to prove you're providing them and education, I get occasional checks from the education and if there are any safeguarding issues you're not allowed to do it. I'm English, so I'm not sure how it works in other countries. I had to jump through a lot of hoops, rightly so they wanted to check I was homeschooling him with the right intentions. My son was severely depressed and suicidal in school. He's a different child now, he's so much happier and is actually learning more without the bullying. I watch true crime too and the fact so many children just get lost in the system without checks is heartbreaking. However, there are a lot of parents who do it for the right reasons.
See, and I totally disagree. I know four families who are actively homeschooling, none of the mothers have degrees in education, and their children are all hitting benchmarks ahead of their peers (who are stuck being taught by iPads while teachers struggle to control the "behaviors" of other students, who the teachers aren't allowed to discipline in any meaningful way). Two of the families' eldest children already graduated (at age sixteen) and scored in the 96th percentile or above in their SATs and ACTs.
There are abusive parents who remove their children from public settings to hide abuse, but that's not the norm. And, frankly, those who do are not significantly deterred from abuse simply by having to send their children to school. They often move frequently to avoid scrutiny.
(Though I am _genuinely_ sorry that your parents didn't take their responsibility seriously. I'm sure it's been a lot of work to catch up.)

My mom is on methadone. They had to prescribe it to her for pain pills. She is fighting cancer for 3 years now.

Her mom has Lupus, plus everyone’s life is different. Some harder than others & other reasons I’m sure. Lol
She looks older not only bc of her lupus but also bc she struggled with substance use disorder. Methadone, which she’s taking, is a medication used as treatment from people with SUD. I’m not a Roxann fan but she’s definitely going through a lot like she said. She doesn’t look older than she normally does to me.

As a mom I completely agree with Chey response. Why can’t His family visit them in LA. Why didn’t he communicate better. You don’t tell me a week or 2 before you want my child for 10 days.

How is it that Cheyenne and Corey don't have a custody agreement that already establishes holidays? Even if they deviate from it by mutual assent, I'm not sure how they've managed to just not do one for so long. (Also, it is _so_ inappropriate to ask a child Ryder's age their preferences in these situations. It puts them in a terrible position. Luckily, it wasn't too bad for Ryder this time because it seems this sort of thing doesn't happen a lot, but the more it happens, the more a child correlates Mommy being sad with Mommy not getting "picked.")

That sounds like a meth reaction not a methadone reaction… if methadone is used properly as prescribed it doesn’t have side effects like that…
methadone should not cause that unless abused.
