There's a Gears comic that explains what happened to Dizzy during that fight. Tai Kaliso actually stepped in between Dizzy and Scorge to allow Dizzy to get away. It was Scorge who defeated and captured Tai, and took him to the Hollow to be processed (tortured). Someone uploaded that story right here on YT. That's how I found out.

you are amazing at gears 5 but sadly gears 5 was the death of Gears of war. You could blame it on a lot of things, but the speed of the game. No real strategy, Shotgun shoots rockets. I don't know for sure, but up until Gears 4 this game was pretty decent and had a large player base. Something about 5 just pushed people away.
Competitive gears 4 tuning was the best way gears should have been played. Instead of following that they made gears 5 with casual tuning. even years later of not playing the game i'm annoyed seeing gears 5 gameplay lol
