Coming of Age is celebrated on the 3rd Monday in May in South Korea. Since JK had turned 19 (that's 18 in international years - I'm going with international, here), they celebrated his coming of age with this dance. Since, international age, JK was about 18 - Jimin, who is 2 years older, would have been about 20. "Coming of Age Ceremony", released in 2000 by Park Ji Hoon, was about a girl who's come of age. She basically says, "Hey, what are you waiting for? I'm not a little girl anymore. I'm a woman so you don't have to wait. Just bring me my roses (a coming-of-age tradition in Korea) and teach me how to love. A bunch of K-pop groups have covered this or danced to its since its release.

Tae may be my main bias, but I get totally gobsmacked by Jimin and JK ALL THE TIME!!! Especially when they dance!! I could literally watch Jimin dance all day long!! His moves are so smooth and graceful!! While JK is all power!!

I can see how she would be the right person to sing "No. 2" with RM, 'cos that song is about RM's 2nd chapter. When you become an adult, that's also a 2nd chapter or the next chapter in your life, as your leave your childhood and teenage years behind you, and become an adult. At the time when RM asked her to be in the song, she had just gotten married and had a child, so she was also moving forward with the next chapter in her life. Having an older singer on the song made it sound more persuasive, as it was a song with a message of an older person telling a younger one that they've done well so far and not to look back. That's why RM felt she would be the right one to sing this song with him.
This was so iconic!! I love the way they dance to it. Like they did the delicate and sexy feminine dance moves and then the masculine and cool that look like MJ with the hat and everything!! SO GOOD
The Coming of Age Ceremony dance is sexy as hell! Any dances done by our Busan princes is freaking epic! Jimin is more on the softer side, while Jungkook is more on the masculine side. They complement each other so well, like the moon and the sun. For your information, the song they were dancing to is call “Sung In Shik (Coming of Age Ceremony)”, sung and danced by Park Ji Yoon.

But I would not be surprised if certain maknaes do this when they come of age, too. That aside I saw "Showdown" in the recomandations: that is Taemin and Jimin dancing together. It's very good since these are two of the best dancers in K-pop and good friends. Their schedule did not aline which is why some people say it is more a solo dance by two fantastic dancers. Until recently as soon as you are born your were considered "1" ... and then in January everyone added a year. So at the time they did this (depending on the date of each performance).... JK was 20 by Korean age. But by international age.... He was 18 or 19. But anyway... It is when they are considered adults. Jimin would have been 1 to 2 years older depending on the performance. Korea has now done away with the version of the age system. They now use the International ages the same as we do. Jimin's birthday is October 13, 1995 and JK's birthday is September 1, 1997. When JK was asked what he wanted to do most when he became and adult.... He said to drive. In South Korea in order to get a car or motorcycle license you must be 18.

The singer, Park JiHoon actually got a lot of criticism after releasing this in 2000. She is the feature on RM's song "No.2" from "INDIGO", which is about no longer looking back on past mistakes and letting go of regrets. I'm pretty sure they performed this Coming of Age Ceremony song around the time that Jung Kook turned 20 (coming of age in S. Korea, if I remember correctly). Jimin said in some show that when he came of age it didn't seem very special, so my thoughts on this is that they both celebrated coming of age together when Jung Kook came of age. Best duo dancers in BTS, in my opinion. J-Hope is great too (well all of them are good dancers now), but Jimin and Jung Kook together are fire. The only videos I’ve ever found of the performance itself are fancams. These focus clips you did are odd because the “editor” put crowd screams in when they weren’t in front of anyone. And the mix was confusing.

The singer, Park JiHoon actually got a lot of criticism after releasing this in 2000. She is the feature on RM's song "No.2" from "INDIGO", which is about no longer looking back on past mistakes and letting go of regrets. The dance is covered all the time now by other Idols, but it was considered pretty risque in 2000.

I'm pretty sure they performed this Coming of Age Ceremony song around the time that Jung Kook turned 20 (coming of age in S. Korea, if I remember correctly). Jimin said in some show that when he came of age it didn't seem very special, so my thoughts on this is that they both celebrated coming of age together when Jung Kook came of age. Best duo dancers in BTS, in my opinion. J-Hope is great too (well all of them are good dancers now), but Jimin and Jung Kook together are fire. Watch 2020 MMA Black Swan performance starting out with just those two and, if you haven't seen it yet, these two also perform Michael Jackson's Black and White together.
