Ruslan Gorten Hi there Gorten, honestly i'm not too sure. But the only thing I know that is new in this model is that you can connect to the iPad to DJ with this controller that's pretty much the only difference I know of. But to be safe I would say for you to research further
Ruslan Gorten lol with this model you can use a laptop or computer as shown in the video. It's pretty good. If you can't find the old model this one is like the older model just with a few new features. Hope this helps

I bought this and 2 studio monitors (rokit krk rp5 g3). I should be able to plug the studio monitors into my laptop with a rca cable and just plug the s2 with usb into my laptop. Correct? Why would you want to plug your speakers into the s2? Dont you always plug them into your laptop?

Hey I have the s4 mk4 with a focusrite 2i2 audio driver and seismic audio 8 inch studio monitors. I have quarter inch cables conntected to my focusrite thats connected to my laptop to output the audio to the monitors which works great. However, when I connect standard yellow/red/white rca cables from my s4 mk2 to my monitors (which has an unbalanced red input) I get this annoying high pitch buzzing/humming sound that does not go away, the only way it works is when I connect the quarter inch cables that are connected to my focusrite into my contoller, but then I lose the use of the focusrite.. any ideas why this is happening?
Hi Christopher, the only thing I can think of is that, the yellow, red, white rca cable is not ideal for your setup. The best setup of RCA cables are the ones that are red and white on both ends or red and white to a line in cable.

But then again it's all preference of what you like.. Since you're starting out this will be a great tool for you to use as it's pretty advanced and, once you learn these turntbales you'll be pretty solid, and there are many popular DJs such as Zedd who use traktor to DJ live, I hope this helps

Im a pioneer user at the moment, but i might try the traktor s4 at christmas cos i wanna try out stem djing. i think pioneer controllers are a bit easier to learn on than traktor controllers - and i prefer the software's look much more to traktor. for club djing i would go for pioneer, unless its a stem performance then id go traktor. also rekordbox dj works on every single bit of pioneer kit, so i can use cdjs, control vinyl, and even their old "S" range of controllers.
Yeah. dont buy the s-range. rekordbox is MUCH better than serato. the s-range only comes with serato intro whilst the r-range comes with full rekordbox. id reccomend the ddj rb, rr, or (if you have the money - i dont :P) the rx.

+SmallFish616 Hi there, Hubik2spin is correct, you need to upgrade your laptop to mac os x 10.8, I'm currently running 10.8.5 and it works great ! I would highly suggest upgrading your system because the traktor pro 2 won't work any other way unless you change to 10.8 os x

Yes, in the traktor settings, audio output = internal speakers! You will lose your headphone capabilities via the board

Unless you find an old version of traktor i doubt that. You need to upgrade your mac.
