I rarely ever subscribe, but you deserve 10 from everyone. Thank you so much for these quick and concise videos. Saves so much time rather than watching a 2-3 stream
I’ve been thinking about using the RC-20 as a track widener, but couldn’t figure out how To do it. This video straight up dropped so much information. Thank you so much!!
Have been wanting to create a rack for this, but struggled with the setup and routing. Didn't know rc-20's magnitude worked like this, definitely going to use this method now! Thanks lots
@@SolStateMusic the breakdown of video in small parts with highlighted points,,thats what i am exactly looking for..simple , straight the point !!hope you do this for other artists as well !!
@@gustavodinis The DAW here is Logic Pro, where the background is automatically black. Is this what you mean? Perhaps you use a different DAW like Ableton where it comes in a white colour. If you are talking about the specific file regions within the session on Logic, you can right click the region and choose "Name and Colour" I think it is and select a colour of your choice for the region :)
@@SolStateMusic Awesome man, thanks! You are lowkey becoming my favorite music production related channel, keep up the great work! I don't know if you have Patreon program but this could be interesting for you to look into.
@@SolStateMusic it's hard to pick one thing... it's just one of the best "tutorial" channel for me, tips from the best producers coming from various streams...and tips not only for mixing but for producing in general if i had to pick one thing it'll be probably the fact that the videos are divided in parts and labeled so its easy to go to a precise tip
It blows my mind when I talk to other producers and they don't do ANY sort of bussing whatsoever. Like people seriously are dropping FX on each individual track? Jesus.
Coming from a hip hop producer perspective, there really isn’t a need for bussing, if you have over 10 tracks in total you start getting into “overproducing” territory, so putting individual effects on individual instruments isn’t too bad. Also there is not a need to use so many plugins. You can make a great beat with EQ being the only plugin you use, maybe some reverbs. I’m sure dance music is much different tho
@@quietwyattbeats4100 ooooh yes. Dance music is a whole different beast. I do both styles and hip hop is my relaxing work lol. I can’t say I’ve ever produced an EDM song with under 70-80 tracks, so bus FX, batch Sidechaining, multi-output routing is a huge must!
@@JT-sq3jj I tend to have a lot of tracks producing as well, usually 50. Just want to add one thing : I think it's really important we don't fall into the "more is better" trap. A good song is a good song. 5 tracks or 100.
@@SolStateMusic No doubt, I've always been a fan of the less is more rule. The type of music I make most definitely requires a lot of tracks and intricate routing techniques though. Had I been making the same music I do now like 4 years ago, I'd probably cluttering the hell out of my projects. Thanks for the montage!
You bet. Thanks for watching
Love you guys
You too Ed!
How do you get your arrangement background colored?
Not sure i understand the question, but logic/ableton both let you color code different tracks
I'm talking about the background of those regions... It seems colorized
@@gustavodinis might just be the logic version? I use Ableton, so I don't know
Hummm... didn’t help but thank you anyway

So nice and positive with amazing knowledge
Yea, Disclosure's are so laid back
Do Disclosure cover in of their streams how do they mix their topend to sound exciting, controlled and in-your-face? If so, which one?
It's many things that lead to this controlled brightness. Try the Mali Mali or My High Breakdown: ruclips.net/video/hOJafQO-LyY/видео.html

RC-20 on the master. The audacity.... :D
On the master FX bus, does it operate as a send only or is it running in parallel with the mix? Ableton user, soz
I think he's using it as pre-master bus (you can do same in ableton with I/O routing or groups)
How about delay on the master?
Try other FX on master too!
Yes, experimenting is great!
Can anyone tell me the name of the song and Artist used in the outro of the show ? Thank you in advance
It's "Get Down" by Sol State

When sending the track out to be professional mastered how do they send it out with all these FX on the master?
I think Guy usually just take the EQ and Limiter off
OTT!!!!!!! 🚀🚀
OTT never dies 😂

Ultra tool
160%?
The RC20 is like my 🐓. You can everything with one knob.
Final track ID please? It’s not who knew!!
;(
The outro song is "Get Down" by Sol State, maybe you know him? 😉 fanlink.to/solstate-getdown
But basically: the Magnitude fader is a dry/wet fader :D
If vocals are louder than the instruments, turn the vocals down. If you keep turning stuff up you'll have overload problems.
That a ganja plant?
Don't think so
