Thanks for the info ! ❤ I have high blood pressure and my A1C is in diabetic stage and I am obese. My creatinine level is hi 0.6. My Doctor told me to continue to eat health to lose weigh to reduce the risk of kidney disease. 5 weeks ago I stopped eating meat. I might eat fish here and there but not so much. I’ve just stopped eating salty foods and sweets. I hope this helps my creatinine lower and traumatically reduce the risk of kidney disease in the name of Jesus. I have to do better with my health. I want to live a long time to enjoy life with my children ❤.
This is my second video in a row I am watching of you both, and it is so reassuring! I was diagnosed with CKD5 and have changed over to a Plant Based Diet, dropped coffee, alcohol, etc. I am steadily losing weight; almost 25Lbs. The way you talk about creatinine, and magnesium. Your whole whole manner of discussing these things just makes so much sense to me. Truly thank you for what you are doing and the knowledge that you are sharing. there is a whole lot of misinformation out there. When I listen to you I feel safe and I feel that I am truly learning something without all the fluff.
So coffee is good for lowering creatinine, but caffeine can raise blood pressure and higher blood pressure can raise creatinine? I don't know why some people think this stuff can be confusing.
If the person is not overweight, in fact underweight (104 lbs, 5 feet 3 inches), and already plant-based (low fat, low salt, no added sugar, does not eat vegan cheese or vegan processed foods), eat a high-fiber diet, and the creatine is high, what can the person do? What's causing the creatinine to be high. Does walking 1.2 miles under hot morning sun (about 75 degrees F) before the blood test, cause the test results to show high creatinine.
Same here. For last six months, I drank large quantities of crecifeoie vegs smoothie. I thought I did right thing for my body. However, my eGFR decreased and my creatinine level increased.
I cut back on salt for 3 months, and my blood pressure was still sky high. Still have high creatinine. I'm scared because I saw what my grandmother went through health-wise on dialysis.
Stop worrying. Stop smoking n drinking. Stop sugar and excess sodium. Check ur BP and glucose levels. Eat healthy. Exercise regularly .Go to a nephro. Have an ultrasound and a complete kindney blood test (at least 9 markers ) and check ur urine and GFR. If everything is ok, stay on course and stop stressing ur self. Stress makes things worse. Stay Blessed.

One thing that was new in my life, on my last blood test I was , /am walking about 2 miles every day about 40 minutes,..but at least a mile or so ,are up some VERY very steep hills takes a bit of effort like climbing.. Could that sort of exercise esp a day before a blood test raise creatinine a bit?, as to muscle breakdown in the blood from semi strenuous exercise?

So happy to hear you have made lifestyle changes and are already seeing great results! Yes, screening for protein in urine and blood work for kidney health should be done at least once/year in all people with diabetes or prediabetes! More often if blood sugar levels are not under control.

Many never say it but coffee is not healthy. I was told it kills the healthy bacteria in the gut. If this is true then we know thats not going to work over a long period of time.
Yep, my husband is on an antibiotic that's causing this. Figures. He needs the red meat to get his hemoglobin back up. Drinks no alcohol, no coffee, heats a healthy diet with lots of vegetables. Its the antibiotic.

@@PlantBasedKidneyHealth yes please, my doctor said it usually increase creatinine first few weeks only. I don't know if it goes up later. Does it means, it damages the kidney the first few weeks ?
Hello, my CPK levels are 5080 U/l... doctor told me I need to stop gyming until further exams being done. I do gym, but only 2 days a weeks. And i take some whey protein.
What are the antibiotics that's are kidney friendly; gram negative gram positive? What antacids or things used for GERD are the safest? Is it OK to be on these for years? Decades? I see all these lawsuits for these causing kidney disease.
When you have eGFR of 15 and creatinine of 3.9, can you do anything? Will cordyceps help? I changed diet to just little bit of meat every day and my eGFR became worse. Maybe I should go back to meat diet.
There are definitely still things you can do! We would highly recommend working 1:1 with a renal dietitian because there is ALOT that can be done with diet to slow progression of CKD and improve outcomes. It is highly individualized though. Reducing meat is great. But it depends on what you ate in place of that. How much total protein, fiber, vegetables, sodium, etc. You can search for renal dietitians at this website: sites.google.com/view/ckdrd/home
I have protein in my urine as well going on for at least a decade and I get checked once per year and through my diet I have been able to maintain stage three. I owe much of my diet to these two wonderful people. Be sure your kidneys aren't creating small undetectable stones as these can cause kidneys to leak protein. Add lemon juice to your drinks and avoid spinach and anything else that contains high oxalates. Maintain normal blood pressure as best you can. Avoid anything that will spike glucose or fructose. Limit meat and protein overall and saturated fat. I learned it from these guys. There are new drugs which can also help.
I dont think caffeinated coffe is a good idea as it raise blood pressure witch is an enemy pf the kidneys. I started drinking decaffeinated coffe and reduced alcohol intake, now blood pressure is stable and in good range.
Natural peanut butter (where the only ingredients are peanuts) can definitely be part of a kidney friendly diet. We would not recommend peanut butter with added sugar, salt or oils (which Skippy has).
