@@garfield4108 Ah yes I didn't notice that but noticed Gloria was singing live. I just miss great bands n musicians in the 80s hehe! Wholesome songs, great talents, uplifting music.
That's very true. That rarely happens. Most suck in live, the manipulative computer songs now hide the singers. In fact singers have to change their natural voice to hide that they are not as talented.
THE Very BEST of Gloria and MSM !!! Should have been chosen as their "signature" number......!!! And.........that oh-so memorable and Amazing lead guitar solo by the very cute and handsome young lad we see in this great and quite rare video clip - who makes it look so easy!!! (for him !!)
Oh my God, what was that time? I remember that we listened to Gloria and her band on the radio of the Florida Keys from here in Havana Cuba and those times we long for were airs of freedom and we still hope that freedom that does not come but we continue listening the radio of the keys and one day that freedom that Cubans of the island desire so much
Ahhhh yes--------I remember this------------it's called Class-------& Sexy------with Real talent, & the one & only Gloria Estefan & her Miami Sound Machine, to remind me. --------------MJL, 75 y/o
It is plugged in at 2:14 with a wireless transmitter, but the whole thing was a recorded playback except the drums and lead vocal. Bit of a rip-off really.
@@tilerthekiller4772 read a bit more about Miami Sound Machine, the bassist is not just the bassist, he is Emilio Estefan the husband of Gloria and the founder/leader of the band.
@@adamcrookedsmile He's not on stage here. He was in the early days of MSM but the band took on a new look around 1987. From memory at least 3 new members were taken on. John DeFaria on guitar (my absolute favourite guitarist!), Clay Ostwald on keyboards and Jorge Casas on bass. Emilio was still heavily involved though.
This is an interesting one. While Gloria Estefan is clearly singing live (meaning, not lip syncing), the instrument parts seem exactly the same as the record version, down to a note. Are they "play-syncing"? That is very unusual.
You're absolutely right, Gloria's singing to a track. This was a very common practice for television shows due to limited time for rehearsals and sound checks and artists being on tight schedules as well.
That's Jorge Casas, amazing musician, songwriter and producer and was Gloria's bass player for over 30 years. Unfortunately he passed away unexpectedly last year. :-(
Gloria's musical director as I recall. A fabulous bassist and musician. John DeFaria always my favourite. Never would have picked a guitar up in the first place had I not seen him. A brilliant brilliant guitarist and composer.
Jorge Camacho first of all, it’s spelled Selena and also Selena had a great respect and admiration for Gloria and were great forces in the industry so no one is not better than the other. You can’t compare one to another who didn’t live to realize her full potential.
everything about this was magnificent
I think that's when I first started fancying Gloria Estefan! Great performance, really upbeat and bouncing. They look like they enjoyed themselves.
U know they're legends when their live performances outshine their studio recording versions.
The music here is actually recorded. Only Gloria's voice here is live. Outstanding band in any case.

My favorite female performer of all time. She is the best. The band is also so good.
No the band is rubbish
The Gloria slide! That shimmy is such an iconic move!
Loved this woman and her band. Some of the best songs and tender ballads.

She's amazing
What i just absolutely love is that they are obviously enjoying themselves dancing around and everything. Entertainment at its finest.

Fantastic note and pitch perfect live version sounding better than the studio version
What an amazing legend was Gloria. This performance was amazing. An all rounder that brought us so much 80s joy!!

That crowd isn't giving them anything.
