Cheers for this. Great review. I love the thumbs up. I'm hoping to get out and do some more climbing with this pandemic going on.

Great video, thanks for comparing them. Trying to decide which one I'll get for my first pad.

Thank you!... I would say get the biggest one that fits in your vehicle :)

Think i’m going with the recon, I have friends getting into bouldering so I don’t need a huuuge pad anyway

Awesome review! Gonna get the recon I think. Do you think the extra weight is a major downside when hiking to bouldering spots? Otherwise I may go with the session II to save weight

Nah. Session is def lighter, but recon doesn’t “feel” heavier on approaches and is way more pad coverage for your falls.

I can't believe how tiny the session pad is. It's comically small. Why would they even release something so small? I'd be super disappointed if that arrived in the mail lol.

Session was my first pad and it is useful enough. A lot of bouldering falls stay on your feet and is more about your feet landing good, which session works for. Also lots of situations have awkward falls and smaller pads can fit in weird places and cover rocks. Bigger isn’t always better because it does not always fit
