Really enjoy your videos and reviews of these vintage cameras. I own a Yashica TL Electro that I used in the 1970s. The mirror stays locked up and I've tried everything to reset. Any suggestions? It does not appear to be a sticking issue as I can easily manipulate it into the down position. Just won't stay locked down. Thanks.
I have a same one, sprockets and take up spool won't move when advancing the lever, same as my yashica 35 (non electronic early one). Maybe cheap gear or design flaw.
I could be wrong about this, but I don’t recall the Minister series having an automatic exposure setting of any sort - just a meter to suggest a proper exposure. That could explain the name : an automatic exposure version of the Minister = “Minimatic” ! That’s my guess, anyway!!! 🤪
Hello I just got a Yashica minimatic-C and this is the closest video I can find to my camera. Do you think the minimatic-S and C are similar enough that I can use this as a reference for how to use my camera? Very informative video thank you
A question... Do you know how fast it shoots with the light meter exhausted (of)...? Could be 1/30...?

That sounds like the best explanation!
