How wide does that rear end measure including tires? I have a drag car that I'm building and my rear end has to be so narrow that instead of running a motor with a pinion gear I need to figure out a way to run a motor with a pulley instead. mount it in front of the rear tires. And then run a belt to the rear diff. I'm going to have to use a nitro rear diff similar to an RS4 2 setup. Any suggestions in this? Love your posts. Always look forward to seeing what else you come up with,

ccarte1 Thanks! It's 9 inches wide or actually 1 inch wider than with the stock funny car tires. Though these tires here are about 3.25 inches wide! So a big wide body is still needed to fit this setup under. I like your idea of using RS4 parts for a real narrow setup. I've considered using HPI Sprint 2 drive-line components for a similar project as they are readily available. Also if for different length belts, check this thread out at > www.rctech.net/forum/electric-road/278212-belt-sizes-various-cars.html < and if you ever need a very short dogbone, check out HPI part # 33433. Don't know if any of this helps but hope your build goes well.

so i have a funny car as well but the "rear axle" seems to be stripped somehow... i dont know much about the hobby yet! i give the car throttle and the car doesnt move so i checked the spur gear and its fine.. any suggestion as of what the issue might be? or if they sell the whole rear end assembly to just bolt on the wheels and go?

+Eduardo Mendez Hi, being the funny car rear end is a direct drive unit and your spur seems fine, is the pinion tighten down good? The only other thing would be the differential which I believe uses the same spider gears as the E Maxx and should be robust enough to not fail under normal use. Do you feel or hear any clicking grinding if turned by hand? Other than that it may be electrical with the speed controller or radio and receiver. Parts for or the rear end itself may be found Ebay but not as much as Traxxas other vehicles.
