    And never bump up the bandwidth and the power for the 2.4Ghz, this will only pollute the surrounding area and doesn't help at all for your coverage, especially if your primary use is 5Ghz.

    When doing comparisons using Speedtest, you should pick a server and use it throughout your test due to the fact that not all servers give the same results. Some servers will give really low numbers and some give really high numbers.

      This is true, and will take this into consideration for the next video. Thank you for your comment!

      Agreed… checkout my latest video on the Eero mesh system. Blows this out of the water.

    Great video! I wish you would've touched on scanning frequencies to see exactly what to look for. I'm sure it's self-explanatory I remember once trying to rule out the bad channel.

    Thanks for the video. What’s original download speed offered by the ISP?

    Does the device stay blue or is it suppose to blink white then solid blue then repeat? Mine blinks white then turns blue then does nothing for a minute then starts blinking white again ...blue etc. is this normal!”?

    • @totaltechwnc
      @totaltechwnc  3 года назад

      This is not normal. I would advise doing a factory reset, and attempting to adopt again.

    Did you make sure that you're running on the 5GHZ band? I noticed in one of your settings both wasn't set. I would make sure to turn on band steering. I'm getting these speeds on my old AC lites.

      I am running on the 5GHz band, and I also have band steering disabled.

      @@totaltechwnc You should have 5G Band Steering enabled. Those speeds look like you're on 2.4GHz band, definitely not 5GHz!

    My order for a Unifi 6 LR finally shipped, looking forward to trying it out. I'll keep my nanoHD's, and LR's and a Lite around for a while. Hmm, I'm seeing 430+ up and down on my nanoHD about 12 ft away VHT80.

      Same here, except I got four of them. I had originally ordered 5 of the U6-Lite's, but the performance on them was honestly underwhelming, though I guess justified for the price. Excited, and semi-scared to see what the U6-LR will bring to the table.

      @@williamcrow_e To be honest even with FIOS Gig up and down any WiFi over say 100+ Mbps feels about the same when doing day to day stuff. Devices like my Roku ultra will only use 20Mhz of bandwidth no matter what you do. Point being this is all pretty much for show unless you have 200 people in the house or for commercial use. Laptop I'm on now has AX, will I feel the difference, highly unlikely.

      Depending on the time of day, I was able to almost hit 500mbps down and low 400s on my upload. It’s give or take, but what is in the video is for sure my average.

      @@totaltechwnc Better off using iperf or even just a large file transfer to test. My WiFi is what's limiting my speed on FIOS. Hopefully I see a bit more with the 6 LR with AX. We shall see.

    • @totaltechwnc
      @totaltechwnc  3 года назад

      IPERF is good for local networks, yes but doesn’t show real world speeds. I have a gig from AT&T up and down so it’s good on showing semi real world experiences. Just trying to help :) may include iperf tests from now as well
