Oh yes! We forgot to put that part in the vid. If we could change anything it would be to add another 200amp lithium battery just to get extra time out of the aircon. (Antoniu just loves the aircon 😬) lol
Love the ep. Lee's family were neighbours and good friends with Cooloola Berries, and we've stayed there many times. Beautiful area. Love the camels. Ha ha. Yep,getting ytour van powered for total off grid looks like the duck's guts!! A must have!
👍 cool to see some green in that region. We were in Gympie from the 27 to 31 of December also. Drove out to rainbow to have lunch on the beach. Great vid. Happy new year.
You guys have some really cool friends with beautiful properties for you to visit, that is so kind. Looking forward to this years episodes and hopefully we can get up there this year and see some of those beautiful places you have shared with us. Travel safe n take care, missed Brax on this one too🤔
Great Vid No Moss Fam....Seriously you two always appear so laid back with little stress even when things go wrong (Key in lock)....😂Great to see. Happy New Year and safe travels for this year...You might even get out of QLD soon, there is so much to see around Oz it will blow your mind.👍
"We can actually run our air con (off our off grid system) and that is pretty cool"....is that a pun fact with Tony? In all seriousness another awesome epsiode. Filled with fun facts, awesome berry treats, fishy deliciousness, an off grid power tour and drama with key in a door. Awesome timing with describing a delicious mushy burger on brioche and then showing being stalked by a camel with what looks like a big cheesy grin of expectation. I will say this again, it is these gorgeous candid moments that make a story, illicit a laugh and make that connection with a viewing audience. The farm stay looked ah-mazing. P.S Always a bonus when Tony comes back home without crabs and is rewarded with pancakes.....serious LOL. Thank you for sharing these lovely moments of your travels. Happy New Year to you all and hanging out for the 2021 updates on where and how your travels will change.
Hahaha yes I’m very happy he doesn’t come home with crabs often 😜 thanks for your kind words!! Excited to share the news, not too long now. Hope 2021 is a great year for you also 😊
G’day guys thanks for sharing all your info on your battery set up. We are going the same way for our van. Just a quick question about your air conditioning unit ? What brand is it as we have a Horton unit and are interested run times ect. Thanks again and love the travels in QLD
Hey guys! Great video. Super informative so thank you. We will be getting a similar fridge and power set up as well. How many amps does the fridge draw if you from your batteries?
Hey mate, the boat loader is featured in every episode... it’s me, Toni, haha 😂 I lift the tinny on and off manually. A boat loader would be nice though
Hi guys, great video (again). Were those batteries 2 x 200w li po? You could, fyi if you had 6 dolar panels, wire them as strings of 2 at 24v. So if you deleted the 120w and added 2 x 160w that would be 960w. As you know watts equals volts x amps so if that 960w of panels was transferring its power as 12v it would be 80amps but as I suggest 24v would be 40 amps. You could even send it to the controller at 48v by 2 strings and that would drop to 20 amps. Biggest advantage is you can still run your controller, your wiring can be cheaper and thinner with the higher voltage. Naturally this idea would better suit others wishing to go to li po batteries of 400w.
First vid of 2021! Hope this answers any questions you may have had about living offgrid 😊
Would you want to upgrade the off grid system with an additional battery?

Your battery, solar, inverter set up is brilliant, really off grid. Well done you guys. As usual a good watch.
Cheers Michael! It’s a very simple way of living, has been well worth the investment for us 😊

Really, who cares. Pretty sure most people watching these guys are old enough to make their own decisions when it comes to risk management.
