  • Had to grab this great looking figure from McFarlane, their interpretation of the 1939 First Appearance Batman from Detective Comics 27! Sharpened those ears and shined him up and he's ready for action!
I left the body suit and cape alone, as with the black trunks. I did repaint the gloves to a slightly darker, bluer purple color, and sharpened those stubby, rounded ears to be more menacing! On the cowl I repainted black mixed with Gunmetal (both Vallejo acrylic colors) and added some detail to the belt making it not so lemon yellow.
I then selectively, VERY selectively coated some areas with Intermediate Gauzy Agent Shine Enhancer, like the parts of the belt, the bat on his chest, his boots, so they looked a bit more new, and then the repainted cowl, to help it have a sheen that better matched the sheen of the outer side of the wonderfully posable, wired cape!
All in all, a wonderful figure out of the box, and a simple one to fix!
LOVE this one, McFarlane! DO MORE!
We need more wired capes, and try some thin pleathers too! But, nice to see you guys getting in there and doing what needs to be done!

It's hard to beat the original Bat! A great looking figure, made even better! The repaints and sharp ears rule! Great job! Thanks for the shout out!
