Cellist here, been fighting a bridge pickup for the past year which is such a pain in the ass to EQ as it picks up all the vibrations from the floor back up through the end pin... not to mention its high frequencies are super dull, mostly mud. Almost sounds like a fake cello sometimes lol. This mic sounds wayyyy more clear and kind of stunningly good for its price. I actually own some nicer pro condensers on a stand which I do use to capture more of a room sound, but I'm looking for something of a super close mic for added clarity which I can blend - seems like this might do the trick. Glad to hear it on a string instrument - and let me just say your playing is fantastic! Thanks for the review 🙏
Does this work nice if you significantly process is using software like adding a lot of echo, or is it more for pure sound recordings of the violin? Also how is it for outside recordings like in the presence of wind?
Weirdly enough, even if it’s an omni. It’s not that bad. Maybe not the best idea to play next to a drum, but i’d use it with other instruments around. For a cocktail style set it would work well.

How does this compare to the Meyers Pickup in your opinion?
Yess, agree .. since version 1 Peak always the issue :(
I'm wondering how it performs in a loud environment since it is an Omni Mic.
