I was one of those guys who went to the Oppressor/Immolation/Brutal Truth/Cannibal Corpse show in 1997 only knowing Cannibal. Brutal Truth went on third, ripped by head open, , and made me a fan for life. I emptied my wallet at the merch table (Kill Trend 10" and a few 7"s) and never looked back. Still one of the best 3 shows I've ever seen in my life! Thanks Dan!
@Mr. Painless85: Danny Lilker is a pretty intelligent man. Yes, he likes his weed and his beer and doesn't give a fuck, but if you read/listen between the lines, you'll find that he's an articulate and educated guy.
@Dr. Phibes in Red Sure, I'm not implying he's not intelligent or anything like that, I just love the way there's no pretentiousness in anything he does or says, he's just himself no matter what. He kind of reminds me of Lemmy now that I think of it.
@ Mr. Painless85: No problem, buddy. I just wanted to point out that there's metal/punk guys who actually have a working brain in their skull. Him being one of those. And Lemmy of course, you're right.
Listen to Ulver, kids! Although their music today is extremely far from what they did in the 90's, anything they touch is pure gold - metal, ambient or even pop lately
Hey Timothy. I'm not going to get into an argument because all you Americans seem to do is fight like left or right is a football team or everyone is a mean toddler and I don't think its respectful or productive. What appeals to you about him? Genuinely curious. I don't think any other country would elect him - he doesn't seem to be that good at the job. What he's said about folks of other races and religions comes across pretty awful too. Aren't you curious about who the other option is? What if they had more to offer you? Dude American healthcare scares the shit out of me. I worry about you guys. 88 trillion dollars you guys borrowed to pay your medical bills last year. If I were you I would want to make sure everyone could get well and not go broke, but we have heavily subsidised healthcare here. Anyway, yeah! Why do you want him to serve another term?
Hi Christina. Good day from Texas. I’ve thought about your question throughout the week and I have some answers for you but coincidentally this is the busiest week I’ve ever had! It is awesome what’s happening but it still isn’t finished, and my taxes are due Monday, April 15th! I watched a few more of your interviews in the evenings and think it’s cool you get to hang out with the metal community. I will respond to you but I need a few more days please. Hope your doing well... 🇦🇺🇺🇸
fantastic interview .... again.Danny's a dude, original true metal legend .and Christina , well , what can i say that any bloke out there doesn't already think ?....!! HOT !
One of the best heavy metal bands period and Steve's vocals are impeccable hes right there with, dio, dickinson, halford and the rest of the top heavy metal vocalists of all time
He could play in a Deathcore band like In Flames, C.O.B, Cryptopsy and Decapitated end up become all for the dollars, and of course Thrash Comercial Bands but he didnt. A guy with integrity.
Nothing to do with Danny. Billy Milano refuses to speak to Scott and Charlie let alone play in a band with them. We could only hope they rehash at some point and do a tour.
11:54 xD lmao that was a rather timid response, maybe cause hes talking to a girl..but really hes all about the attitude. Danny lets the riffs do the talking \m/ I dont think he gives a flying folk about millionaires or being a millionaire either way lol thats a boring lifestyle. Hes into fun little things like causing total destruction and mayhem while puffing on da herb 🌿🌴
1988 slayer nuclear assault supported in Ireland dun laoighaire.........best gig ever.........still have the ticket and john Connelly autograph..called us all damn homosexuals for asking.....
It would've been nice if she actually talked to Dan about Nuclear Assault for more than 30 seconds instead of grindcore and black metal for 90% of the interview.
@@TheVoidwithChristina Nice. I want to do a RUclips show about metal, sex, and other subjects. I've been a metal fan since 1980 and a musician since 1983, so I'm almost as old-school as Danny 😎
Thank you! I'd say the religious right's stranglehold on many modern policy decisions plays a role here ... the current culture of fear mongering does make the world a bit more nervous and risk-averse. But that's just my theory, open to others' interpretations of course. :)
I see - thanks for the response. I can't say I quite see it the same way myself, but I suspect our politics/worldviews are bit different in general, so it informs our observations accordingly I am sure. I will add though, I'm no fan of the religious right myself (or religion period) so while I don't honestly see the things you do the from the same perspective, I can still understand your concerns, of course. Best Regards to you!
I guess the whole everyone being offended by everything also plays into this. How do you think things have shifted? Into a more progressive place? Curious. Where are you in the world?
I am in the lower Northeast USA. (I have seen Mr. Lilker live many times as a result, haha!) I do believe things have drifted toward a more progressive landscape on the whole. Whether that is a good or not is indeed debatable I suppose, depending upon how one sees the world, societies, etc. But you bring up something that seems to be having a huge and rather disturbing effect on this phenomenon either way - hyper-sensitivity and being offended by everything. Clearly, both sides of the ideological spectrum engage in this, but it seems the Left has taken this to levels heretofore unknown in recent years, and we now live in a stifling socio-political climate, where most everyone seems terrified of "offending" someone, anyone, anything, and dare not say anything that departs from the arbitrarily "accepted norm" of the moment, etc. This is obviously WAY out of step with the sensibilities that were common to the old thrash-metal era etc. Whether bands back then leaned Left or Right or neither one, they had opinions all over the place, and that was good! They were able to say things others may not have agreed with, but could "agree to disagree" and such as well. In the decades since, we have moved far away from this - rather obviously to me. I believe disagreement is healthy. Violently attacking dissent from the popular dogma of the day on the other hand, is not.
Indeed. I think the biggest issue is corporate interests vs. human interests, and everything else is a distraction ... also what's with editing the first line of your comment? Haha.

Danny Lilker. Most classy guy in metal. End of story

Wonder how much money bands spend on travel and expenses a tour must cost a ton bad enough saving for one flight let alone a world tour for 3 years
