Hi Jordan, if you allow me to make a suggestion. It'd be great if you mention some use cases in real world that uses the technology. I know if we understand we'll be able to know when to use and when not use BigTable for example. But you saying some use cases, we'll certify that we are on the right track

Not a bad idea! For some of these, they don't have real world use cases (in fact, most of them are deprecated so far). But soon, I'll get to more modern tech

I suggest the viewers dive a bit deeper into how BigRable data is represented. What is Row Key, Column Family, etc.? The example used in the video does not comply with best BigTable practices, and if I, as an interviewer, saw such an example, I would dive deeper to find out if you understand the high-level details.
Also, be mindful that dynamic partitioning does not solve all problems automatically. You still need to think about good Row Keys (hint: composite keys)

That's a fair point. While I'm pretty confident I myself understand these having read the paper, it's less of a focus of mine as I'm biased to talk about what I'm interested in, which is ultimately the architecture.
The locality piece within column families is interesting though.
As for the example in the video, that's straight out of the paper lol, though I also thought it was a bit convoluted when reading it

Could you please do a video for designing like counts? It’s an interesting problem especially with bursts traffic in a multi data center scenario

See TinyURL video. You can use CRDTs or you can use kafka.

It's basically the same thing as the payment system. Just a database table that is replicated with paxos/raft on a per transaction basis, then use CDC for any derived data from the ledger.
