    "Only show the duplicate with the highest page rank" sounds like an anti-spam thing. I don't know if they say that explicitly, but I don't know why else someone would intentionally host pages with exactly identical content.
    I guess there's probably a billion default Apache response pages online, that's a slightly more benign case of duplicates.

      Yes, it's an anti spam thing. There's tons of duplicate web pages
