That would of been such a better story line in s7 or 8 instead of just killing him off and forgetting about him for the rest of the show. And after everything Bonnie has been through that would of made so much sense for her to turn bad

He also gave her sweet looks and when he merged with Luke he became a better person and wanting to make things right with Bonnie . The writers should’ve let him stay in season 7 and that could’ve been the season that he developed and changed into a better person with Bonnie.
