A sliding guitar. I hadn't really questioned it, but I'm pretty sure. One of them good old fashioned white-folk instruments, right up there with the mountain harp.
The lapsteel had origins from the diddley bow. Which originated from the coloured folk. Not that race even matters, so I'm not sure why you brought it up.
Bryan G I regret to inform you (or anyone else), race will always matter. It might not be fair or right, but humankind has a knack of having fun with just about everything. Just ask my sexlife. I can speak freely or loosely about hick culture because I myself am bred from a gene pool of Texan hicks. Musical origins are a mess of anthropology. The results are never absolute, but quite nice in the here and now, don't you agree? And I can't help but say, Africans didn't have a fucking bow until they were handed one. Nice drums, though.
@Chelsea021391 wait, i can't beleive i gave you a thumbs up! you're wrong! the violin in "until the night is over" is waaaaaay better :P this ain't half bad either tho :P

Look into bluegrass, you'll hear plenty of that, not to mention the fiddle (not to be confused with the violin).

So fermented with shadow and shade the furniture should have warped, the mirrors burnished with a darkling froth of otherness.
Greasy man. Superiorly lubed.
this guy's weird voice is unatractive, but yes VERY attractice at the same time lol
cool music and video but the singer needs to drop the dark shades act
