I one shotted it after turning that off i literally raged for an hour or so before doing that and then first try I won I will admit it was still close but it was also a bit easier to win because I could actually turn and also go up when i wanted
Hey i kbow its been two years so who knows probs already beat it but i had the same problem to fix it I turned off the fast swim power before fighting because I noticed it was not letting me turn while I was using it and also i couldnt hold on swim up because once you start rapid swim it takes a second to stop. I spent around an hour or so before changing and i literally beat it on the first try when I did.
@@rgeary3084 yeah there are usually ways to make boss fights easier just by adjusting the small stuff. However i will say this the kh2 boss was uncheesable for me but i was at lvl 27 when I got there so thats a possibility. I recently started getting into these games and there sooo many games, i started with 2 and 2 bbs and then I decided to go back and do the first three. Feel free to come back and ask for help ive had to do it a ton on just the 4 ive played so far 👍
For anyone who wants a super easy tip, choose Goofy and Ariel. Then just swim around the edge of the fight repeatedly, using the mermaid kick to avoid all her attacks. Remember to swim away when she’s trying to do that inhale move. Then when you eventually get her to the very last bit of health, when she tries to inhale you, smack her with your keyblade. It took me literally one attempt on proud mode with this strategy. Good luck!

I remember when I did this on proud . And I basically dashed around the battle field because I could never attack her. While having to just stare at my dead party members and just wait for ever to attack her

I was having alot of difficulty with the movement part even with mermaid kick turned off, I found going as high as I can above her head allows u to avoid most her moves and allows you to maneuver to behind her.

Sora doesn't get to use many of strength abilities like blitz or hurricane blast , as well as Sonic blade and Strike raid . The only thing he has going for him strength-wise is his combo plus , and there's a good chance he might miss the target . That's why I equip a magic based keyblade in this world . For normal enemies I can dispatch them with few thunder spells , if they were too strong I just spam Stop , and if it's an enemy that can't be affected by magic , I conserve it for healing and protection . Many think Atlantica is one of the worst worlds in kh1 , but that's only because they're equipping the wrong key , and I would *blame them for it* because the game goes out of its way to give you hints that magic is dominant here by having chests that can only be unlocked with elements and a boss that can only be weakened with magic . Once you figure that out , the world becomes one of the best worlds to play through
@@omniis_chillin5288 Either you skipped Olympus Coliseum or you just forgot to talk to Merlin after clearing Monstro. Stop is the last spell you learn. All the rest are supposed to be upgrades. Please don't tell me you went through most of the game without Thunder. Lol
@@overdrive023 Yeah. I'd been stuck for a week and was dreading having to grind for levels just to beat this boss. Then I saw people's comments on here about the rings. I equipped 2 Thundara rings and it made a HUGE difference in the damage I was taking and I beat her really quickly. Those elemental resistances are no joke. Lol
There is no way that's proud mode, I am level 31 I have more health and mp than you and I have 2 thunder rings and I still get like 5 hits before she kills me and she takes 50% with her big lightning
You can do it, (idk if you've alraedy managed..) Let Donald and ariel fight. Distract Ursula, but make sure both you, Donald and Ariel got mega potions.. Elixirs, mega ethers and that... they must be able to heal themselves as well as you healing them and staying out of Ursula's reach. Let them fight, you distract and help to heal them... They shall manage to take her down! But i went and managed to help at the last health bar that Ursula had.
I was level 35 and she still kicked my ass. Then I saw comments on here about using Thundaga rings and it was easy. I always forget about elemental resistance. Lol
I feel like I'm going insane. I literally turn off mermaid kick before I go in to fight her and I STILL die after I've whittled her HP down to the last half bar. I'm also playing on Proud Mode and I'm level 35. What in the World am I doing wrong????
I know this is late but- I recommend you put on some anti thunder rings, since most of her attacks use some, also stock up on some mega potions if needed, and when she does the inhale attack, just go upwards, she can't get you if you're around her eyes
This match was surprisingly very easy. Sure i equipped my team with lightning resistance items but she's a boss in a water level so i get a pass for that.
You must have a ton of defense. My proud mode play through isn't looking like this lol

i actually turned it off. it was getting me killed all the time. i actually defeated her with it off. (: just swim to the back of her and hit her.
I have spent the past two hours trying to defeat this boss with no luck. I think it’s partly because I can’t control where Sora goes!!

That is why for bosses I have many a Mega-Potion so I don't have to worry too much about my party.

He's probably leveled high and using elemental rings that half the damage from lightning and blizzard Ursula attacks.

Why're you using the three wishes key . The Keyblade you get from Merlin at this point is way better

I just defeated her and I recommend unapplying Mermaid Kick and fighting her from behind.

Using aero reduces damage a lot, he’s on proud mode. Prolly running an elemental ring and a thunder ring. That’s how I just beat Ursula

You cant turn as easily while enabling fast swim just in case thats whats hurting you.
I'm lvl 43 but have terrible defence and get killed easily by 2 of her lighting bolts.
