Thank you Kristie 😁 ya it was soo hot at some places! Thankfully not on the slopes itself where we were sliding coz I guess it was a bit more shaded.. but even on the walk over the dune there was a few times I just took a lil break on the board to cool my feet from the sand 😅

You guys are so calm , all your videos and very calming ,it was quite funny how Yen just smokes the run on her first time and Peter not so much. Good going guys.
@@PeterandYen because I went on a tour of the 90 Mile beach which included a trip also the Cape Reinga the tour company provided us with Sandboards which made it easier for sandboarding. The technique I used was to lie down forward with your 2 legs up in a vertical position to get the maximum speed. Then to slow down you would let your legs down on the sand dune. So to speed up you have your legs vertical and to slow down you have your legs down on the sand.
The dip at waterfall looks so relaxing. A much needed thing to do after that sandboarding 👍🏻👍🏻 Oh man you picked great food after. The ramen looks super delicious 😍 The soupless ramen is very interesting, look at Peter’s reaction 🤩

I only went in thigh high 😅 had our gears to look after plus there were actually a lot of boys in the pools! We just avoided videoing most except for the ones we chatted with to use their jumps lol 😆

We still haven't gotten around to watching dune 😭😭 Really need to make some time for that! The sand dunes look stunning, the perfect place to try some sandboarding but I think I would die of exhaustion going back up. I guess Peter's running has come in handy here!
A couple of weeks ago when you guys were in W Auckland, I thought I should ask you two to consider going to Lake Wainamu. I used to go there quite often. Another place worth doing some research is Fairy Falls, hope when the Persian restaurant is open by then.

We have never done sandboarding, maybe the closest experience was in the White Sands Park in New Mexico, but we did not do good, so we gave up after the 3rd try hahaha. Good job Yen! Yea we bought the board 🙂 actually bought two but since we were vlogging figured we could just share the one between us to make things easier! Nothing special but it's better if they have a smoother plastic underside (which ours didn't) 😅
Hahaha Yen might have just filmed the most calm excited footage on a GoPro😂😂😂. GoPro looks great!! This area might be one of my favorites you’ve shown. What an awesome place! Ramen definitely must have been 2 to 3 times amplified because Peter said flavor three times (well, actually 4😁)… full day of play makes the food yumm-ay😋😋. After watching this I definitely recommend you guys find a block of ice and revisit the grassy hill… I guarantee it will bump up Yen’s calm excitement a few notches😁. Great vid guys! Safe travels!

@@PeterandYen zoom lens sounds like a good tool for you guys since you go to these amazing, expansive scenic places… do you guys normally travel with just one lens?
Wide angle lens would make those establishing shots nicer for the stunning scale of places but we opted to get a zoom lens coz often want to capture something small that's too far away like yesterday when we went bird spotting 😆 perfect for that haha 🐦 Peter was on the hunt for the very rare and elusive takahe again! Yea we usually just go with the one lens plus take along our GoPro and/or the DJI pocket. Definitely didn't want to be swapping lens out at the dune in case any sand got in.. disaster! 😅😅 How about you? 🙂
@@PeterandYen Totally makes sense… you guys go to these amazing places with expansive awesome views, but also see things you want to zoom in on like takahes (hopefully). I’m sure with all the walking you guys do you are always trying balance streamlining your gear with wanting to have the right gear to capture the moment you want. I assume in a pinch the Osmo Pocket or GoPro can do a decent job filming wide scenery shots. I have to travel light because I have a messed up back and 99% of the time I’m on foot when I’m lugging gear. After a lot of trial and error, I shoot most things with a 50mm (that’s the full frame equivalent) prime. I only carry that and a 16mm wide. I also always have my Osmo Action on me since it’s so small. If I really want to go light I’ll carry just the Sony ZV-1 point and shoot. A decent amount of b-roll I shoot is with the ZV-1. On a side note, Peter - if you’re reading this (or if not, please deliver this message to Peter - thank you Yen 😊) - now that your challenge is over, I challenge you to run two 5k’s in a week😁. If you accept I will run two 10k’s. 🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♂️ I was gunna say one 5k, but you can do that in your sleep. So how about it? 😁😁😁

It's a great to have a dip in the water after sand boarding. Good on Yen for not getting and 'sand' beard 😅. Then nothing beat a warm ramen dish on cold weather. It's a comfort food, maks ur tummy happy 😀

We would love to resume our travels overseas again. We had to cut them short last year and quickly return to NZ before our borders closed (it's in some old vlogs if you're ever keen to check them out!) But yea we always want to be back in NZ for summers normally so if/when we can we'll go overseas and return to NZ each year again 🙂

@@PeterandYen zoom lens sounds like a good tool for you guys since you go to these amazing, expansive scenic places… do you guys normally travel with just one lens?
Wide angle lens would make those establishing shots nicer for the stunning scale of places but we opted to get a zoom lens coz often want to capture something small that's too far away like yesterday when we went bird spotting 😆 perfect for that haha 🐦 Peter was on the hunt for the very rare and elusive takahe again! Yea we usually just go with the one lens plus take along our GoPro and/or the DJI pocket. Definitely didn't want to be swapping lens out at the dune in case any sand got in.. disaster! 😅😅 How about you? 🙂

in on like takahes (hopefully). I’m sure with all the walking you guys do you are always trying balance streamlining your gear with wanting to have the right gear to capture the moment you want. I assume in a pinch the Osmo Pocket or GoPro can do a decent job filming wide scenery shots.
I have to travel light because I have a messed up back and 99% of the time I’m on foot when I’m lugging gear. After a lot of trial and error, I shoot most things with a 50mm (that’s the full frame equivalent) prime. I only carry that and a 16mm wide. I also always have my Osmo Action on me since it’s so small. If I really want to go light I’ll carry just the Sony ZV-1 point and shoot. A decent amount of b-roll I shoot is with the ZV-1.
On a side note, Peter - if you’re reading this (or if not, please deliver this message to Peter - thank you Yen 😊) - now that your challenge is over, I challenge you to run two 5k’s in a week😁. If you accept I will run two 10k’s. 🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♂️

It's a great to have a dip in the water after sand boarding. Good on Yen for not getting and 'sand' beard 😅. Then nothing beat a warm ramen dish on cold weather. It's a comfort food, maks ur tummy happy 😀

She was the cutest!! So friendly and was super excited 🥰 we played with her for some time hoping he owner would come find her but when they didn't we wanted to make sure she was safe since there's a lot of cars there and she kept running all over the place!

We would love to resume our travels overseas again. We had to cut them short last year and quickly return to NZ before our borders closed (it's in some old vlogs if you're ever keen to check them out!) But yea we always want to be back in NZ for summers normally so if/when we can we'll go overseas and return to NZ each year again 🙂
