      Hi Les, if these lads did get a prison sentence that would be a another
      cost of £49.888 per person per year to the tax payer, so maybe probation is the cheaper option, should stick them in the armed forces for two years and keep them off the streets, l feel alot safer and financially better off living here in Thailand I've got good neighbours to, say no more 555

Yes, you're right; some people should be put into custody, and the reason they're not is cost. It's crazy; you cannot put a cost on keeping the public safe.

    I view this differently as I’m younger than most of the people commenting. I’m 40, my place is built in Thailand already , England is more expensive it is what it is most older guys love a good moan but let’s face it the bad attitude of the brits is hitting Thailand hard just look at the news and will effect the visa cost of you lot there on a permanent basis in the end and the pensions won’t cover it that is for sure. The Thais will only put up with it for so long until enough is enough.

    • @RetiredandLivingthedream

      A rather negative view of this, ( no offence ) The Brits always Moan, in the UK it was almost always about the weather. If they don't moan then there must be something wrong so they moan.
      My opinion of Thailand is at the moment it is fantastic, live the moment as it does not last for ever. Life is too short for what if. Here Now is ok for me. Thanks for taking time to post your views.

      Thanks for the comment, perhaps your looking at it differently than me, I realized the UK was on the slippery slope and I recount what was happening many years ago, now jump forward to today has it got any better or worse, I am a News watcher and I see it every day. Looking from afar it has not got better. As you mentioned about Thai drivers and accidents, I never said Thailand is perfect, every country has it's faults including Thailand but for me Thailand ticks the boxes I require. I live a great life here and suggest to others not just in the UK if your Country is going down the drain like all Western Countrys ( Name one that isn't ). One question if it was your car that they crashed into causing you injury would you be happy with probation? for the offender. Have you ever been a victim of Crime? No deterrent in my mind, here in Thailand no one wants to go to Jail, Crime is very low here compared to the UK, The punishment here is severe, What message is it to give if you steel less than 250 pounds worth of goods from a shop in the UK there is no punishment. Mmmm. I am returning to the UK for a couple of months and will be doing various video's in the UK maybe you should avoid these video's.

    • @steveaustin1984
      @steveaustin1984 4 месяца назад

      @@RetiredandLivingthedream Well, "deterrence" as a policy has been proven to be wholly ineffective on the people that need it the most.
      Laws and policies designed to deter crime by focusing mainly on increasing the severity of punishment are ineffective partly because criminals know little about the sanctions for specific crimes. More severe punishments do not “chasten” individuals convicted of crimes, and prisons may exacerbate recidivism.
      People who have nothing to lose don't respond the same way to "deterrence" as people who actually have something to lose (people like you and I).
      Productive members of society respond to deterrence. Criminals do not.
