Man, I am blown away by the screenplay, the movie, the photography, but above all by the two giants Michael Caine and divine Jude Law. Definitely his best role ever!

Quite the opposite, infact. It is a very interesting movie. Every cheesy part in this trailer is simply taken out of context. This movie has such a plot twist you'll never see coming, it's so awesome, it makes up for everything 10 times over.

For once believe me… This Sleuth is a masterpiece! I can’t stop watching this movie. Harold Pinter is a genius. Branagh a superb director. Caine and Law giants, the most brilliant actors in the world. Photography is most perfect. Art and architecture mind blowing. Soundtrack delicate… I beg you, ignore rotten tomatoes and their audience as well… ( they prefer Cinderella and sound of music stories… ) If you don’t adore this Sleuth… you’re a huge ignoramus!

Definitely Jude Law’s strongest performance ! The UK has way better actors than any other country. Just the idea of Pitt, Cruise or any other actor playing Jude s character makes me ROFL… simply ridiculous,…!

@Yhyyenymmarra yeh u cant compare it to the original at all. This version by Harold Pinter is COMPLETLEY different. Different characters, different scenarios, different setting....you need to know the work of the witer, Harold Pinter, to really appreciate this film.

I've seen both. Not quite true. Think of it as a new modern version, not a remake. Thus the new version seems quite nice.

Rick Baer's review on RUclips analyses the aspects of the newer Sleuth that makes it a good enough remake. Not saying the 2007 wasn't crap but it certainly has more to it rather than simply making the 1972 Sleuth modernised

Absolute garbage! Artificial characters, and set design from a bad sci-fi movie. It wouldn’t be the first time Michael Caine has done crap for the money. There isn’t one ounce of the wit, style, or sense of fun of the original. Is this really the best that Kenneth Branagh and Harold Pinter could do? I don’t understand why they bothered to call it “Sleuth.” Anthony Shaffer and Laurence Olivier must be turning in their graves!
