Fairly new subscriber here. Just wanted to say I love the series and I appreciate you keeping out the profanity which is a breath of fresth air in the COD community! Am looking forward (hopefully) in the future to the G11 guide because that gun has always fascinated me with the way it reloads and such.
My kids are now old enough to play this game and my son pointed out that Stuart never mentioned a 3rd perk. I've probably watched this a half dozen times in the last decade and never noticed.
A lot to unpack in this comment. First, that your kids (presumably 10-12 years old) are watching a decade old fan video for a approximately 10 year old call of duty game. The next thing is the fact that you’ve watched this video around 6 times for entertainment. Very interesting
XboxAhoy says in hidden writing: Third perk comes down to your personal preference - Marathon allows you to cover more ground to seek out targets on larger maps. Ninja keeps you silent while you pluck off targets, effectively making you somewhat a "special-weapon sniper". Flak Jacket prevents accidental suicidal mis-shots in close quarters. Hacker to detect equipment and place a shot to flush out campers and/or defenders. Finally, Tactical Mask to prevent Tacticals from distorting your aim.
You had the perfect chance of making a pun about taking an arrow to the knee with that final clip you had on the vid, yet you managed to make something just as good. I salute you Mr Stu!
Stuart, I'm actually surprised that you never mentioned the fact that the crossbow pushes you back while firing. Sure the effect is negligible, but it still happens. It's kind of a nifty little fun-fact if anything.
God damn it i love these videos, they seem so in depth and the narration is so good, and no video of yours is truly great unless you have that little pun at the end of each video
I remember when i played the campaign and i saw the Crossbow with a scope, i was so excited because i thought it was going to be available on MP but Treyarch took the scope off of it for the MP :( i also got dissapointed with the Spas 12. i even fantasized about burning people down with my Incendiary rounds (Dragons Breath) but they said that it was taken out because of Balance issues. :/
@@ElBurdo You replied fast! I just love reading 10+ year old comments and wondering if the commenter's account is still active or if they remember the video they commented on. Thanks for replying :)
you know I have been wondering this for a while....HOW COME YOU CANT USE THE BOLTS IN THE FRIGGIN QUIVER ATTACHED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE CROSSBOW!!!. 2 BOLTS!!??? THERE'S ANOTHER 4 UNDER THE CROSSBOW!!!
I used to make Black Ops guides too, but then I took a crossbow to the knee. But seriously, Crossbow Stories with XboxAhoy? I know the clips aren't that important in these guides but I'm impressed with the ones you got with the crossbow, quite a lot of direct impact sticks you got.
I know that this has been mentioned before, but im amazed by the fact, that the crappy youtube subtitles work on xboxahoy-videos. For other youtubers they are usually incomprehensible gibberish. :D
The AK-74u is real... But it's not an SMG. It fires the 5.45x39mm cartridge, which is an intermediate rifle cartridge. SMGs generally fire 9x19mm Parabelum, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, and 5.7x28mm (the P90).
You're really professional with yor videos dude, the look like a real thing, not just strategy for the game was seeing this, and my father passed by and said:I'm not buying you one of those so you can shoot shit around!
Well done, I wouldn't have wanted to play against you in these matches. Getting stuck by a crossbow is one of the most humiliating ways to be taken out.
The BO2 is marginally faster at 52rpm as opposed to 40rpm for the BO1 crossbow (20rpm without Sleight of Hand since its rate of fire is dependent on the reload speed).
+Charlie WithaQ 12 extra RPM isn't "marginal". This is a weapon that fires less than one shot per second we're talking about here. 12 extra RPM is very noticeable and will save your life.
That's because he wrote his own subtitles. The "crappy RUclips subtitles" you mentioned are in fact the "Transcribe Audio" function, which listens to the speech and attempts to write it down. However, it usually fails miserably and can lead to pretty hilarious results.
It would have been cool to see normal bolts and a rifle scope as attachments. That way its like having a secondary sniper, plus all the rage it would cause would be hillarious
Bolts are short (Around 6-7 in) and usually do not have fletching, while arrows are long and always have fletching. The projectiles for the Black Ops Crossbow are long and have fletching, this means they are indeed arrows, not bolts.
Gret vid Stu, As always. Question: Are you going to do a special series for Black Ops 2? Like how you did TTK and Weapons of Modern Warfare. Or are you just doing the weapon guide? I'm curious.
The Insperation for the Black ops Crossbow was the Use of Crossbow Snipers in the Balklands war of 1991-1995 by British & Bosnian Countersnipers hunting Federal Serbian Snipers, they used a Bolt with a Small Explosive ordenace to expolode in the enemy, rupturing their insides & securing a Kill, the Silent Sound of the Crossbow made them very deadly & very Unexpecting. So when you say it is the oldest weapon is Black Ops it could be Considered the Most Modern. I hate to say it but thumbs up!
Great stuff again XBoxAhoy. I wonder if you actually get any self time on CoD, I mean where you just play for fun and frustration, without having to worry about capturing etc....? Keep up the sterling work.
Stu, with all the videos that you do, Weapons of Modern Warfare, Black Ops Weapon Guides, Beverage Guide Express, ect. Do you have any time to do what you want?
I really wish in Black Ops 2, they would put attachments that involve the bolt. Maybe a bolt that may electrify the enemy, or a burning crossbow tip. All they did was add some sort of upgraded sight and something called a tribolt. Find out more about the attachments on the Black Ops 2 wiki.
Well, they did have a gun that's over one hundred years old (Model 1887) in MW2, that and the popularity of the crossbow are what's keeping me hopeful.
Hey Stuart, i absolutely love your videos. You are probably my favorite person on youtube! What are some of your stats from your black ops combat record? (KD, killstreak, most kills)
I comment every time and don't get replied to, but never mind, great video stu, interesting history, also how do you feel now your covering your favourite black ops weapon?
It's an arrow. It uses vanes for stabilization. A bolt is shorter than an arrow and heavier. The confusion originates from the fact that crossbow arrow making companies have called them "bolts". And then consumers started calling them bolts. Despite the fact that they look and work just like arrows.
Best ending ever. The pun was amazing, and the pop-culture reference at the end made me laugh... while in a public place. Now everyone's looking at me weird.
You should do battlefield 3 guides. Granted it'd be harder to do with more guns and attachments than cod. But since the guns are more customizable, the guides would be a lot more interesting.

Didn't the crossbow have a variable scope in the campaign? I'm wonder why they couldn't have added the scope as an attachment you could buy with CoD Points. Or made it a OHK weapon with it having regular bolts and you could buy the explosive bolts.
Hey stu, when black ops 2 comes out, if you plan on doing weapon guides, could you perhaps do a seperate guide for a weapon's effectiveness in zombies, against the zombies and against other players in the competitive 4z4 mode that has been announced? Same here, but I learned about them close to the end of the year so I kind of just tuned out and because we had an option if we wanted to take a test over them or not lol, nobody took the test.

Oh god I LOVED the crossbow in BO. Now that I'm getting into PC gaming, I'm thinking about purchasing BO via steam. scavenger and SoH made the crossbow the funnest thing to use to me.
It's curious that they chose to leave the scope off the crossbow in multiplayer. I think they should have at least made it an available/unlockable/purchasable option. Love that closing killcam.
Were you not listening to the video? A crossbow is much a much quieter option than a conventional firearm, so a crossbow will be more suited for covert missions which require stealth. It's much quieter to down an enemy with an arrow than a bullet.
They should've made it able to put an ACOG or variable zoom on it, cos it's usually used at long range.
The Red Wall in the campaign both times you use the crossbow it has a variable zoom
Ikr? Like the varible zoom was in the campaign! Its like the KS25 why did they remove it?! Nobody knows. Maybe it was just too OP
