John, never worry about if you think your videos are getting long. I could walk around your garden with you, soaking up your knowledge and passion for HOURS!

Yeah he’s back. My husband just asked this morning “Where’s your guy from Scotland?” We’re old and he gets Scotland and Ireland mixed up😩. Anyway always enjoy your videos and beautiful garden.
I was just thinking about you the other day and wondering when the next video will be uploaded! I'm all set for a new growing season, and no growing season is complete without a little bit of John Lord.
"Strange times we live in. You can cut plants but you can't cut hair." Thanks for the smile, John! As an American, I need to watch your videos twice to catch everything you say, (double the pleasure!) but the same would probably be true for you understanding my Minnesota accent.
Great video as always john, anyone who suffers from back problems must be so envious watching you bending twisting & turning the way you do they probably wince a few times 🤣. Looking forward to a new season of your vids tho I learn so much with all your knowledge & enthusiasm 👍
I am an older Brit living in Canada. You have taught me so much. Thanks. I love your approach to gardening and when I come to Ireland next I must visit.
Today is my favourite day! There's a mad man catching frogs in his gorgeous garden! Wood anemone I love it, having a hard time finding it for my garden but not giving up! Thanks for all the information and pruning lessons. Cheers!
Never worry about the video being too long - I saw 35 minutes and settled in for a lovely break (between classes - we are once again in lockdown so I am teaching virtually). Here in Ontario (we are Zone 5b), we are having an unusually warm April, and I have been out checking out my garden, trying to decide what and when to prune. Lo and behold, you share a video about pruning! Very timely.
Honestly best ever gardening channel, and wish to have the pleasure to see the garden grow and its progress in person one day for inspo. Absolutely such great professional advice all compact into one vid every time and simply so satisfying seeing as much as so help navigate years of gardening personal experience into a video. What a champ! Thank you and please keep up the excellent work.👌
I really appreciate it when John shows us the 'warty' side of his garden, makes me feel i'm not a total hopeless case! you are going on a bit though about the ivy!! regards from Ontario, Canada

Oh so excited to watch your latest video! I saw that it was posted on my notifications last night, but i am waiting for the perfect quiet relax time today to myself to sit ,relax and enjoy watching. (Introvert mom of 4 sons ,2 autistic , loving the you tube positve community and learning from others)
glad you are back beginning of Autum in New Zealand, seed sowing time and mail order,I want a lot of the perennials you talk about I never heard about, you will send me bankrupt lol.
I tend to be a bit nervous of cutting back in the spring once the plants have started growing, but I now feel confident to go out with the secateurs again. Thanks John
The states (at least zone 6 central standard) had unusually warm weather then it came back to remind us who is in control! Needless to say my big leaf hydrangeas got a bit of a frost on them also. Here's to hoping the blooms are not effected! It will be their first year to bloom in my garden!
My neighbor's yard is a complete mass of weeds and my ivy keeps the weeds out so, I do think it has it's uses. I just go after it with the hedge trimmer every few weeks.
John, never worry about if you think your videos are getting long. I could walk around your garden with you, soaking up your knowledge and passion for HOURS!
"Sorry about this, bush, but it's for your own good!" I always get encouraged by your videos. Thanks for a lift today, John.

Nice to see you back
I tend to be a bit nervous of cutting back in the spring once the plants have started growing, but I now feel confident to go out with the secateurs again. Thanks John
Thanks for the info on pruning the holly. About to plant 3 of them.
John I love you
You're a dangerous man when armed with your various weapons. Anyhow looking forward to a few videos over the next few months.
aye, 't must be spring, the mad Irishman brandishes weapons amongst the magical aprilness. : )
Very good video john 1st time to your channel .
The states (at least zone 6 central standard) had unusually warm weather then it came back to remind us who is in control! Needless to say my big leaf hydrangeas got a bit of a frost on them also. Here's to hoping the blooms are not effected! It will be their first year to bloom in my garden!
Thanks for the pruning tips on cotinus. Another great video!

Bird song is a nice background.
I have missed your advice. So glad you are back 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Nice video
I’m with you. I really do not like ivy. Such a pain.
John lord how do you remember all the names of the flowers and plants going along amazing.
Hi~謝謝♡♡♡~Hard-Work♡
Scatter-brained...messy af... tosses tools down everywhere (and walks away without them)... works sooo messy....AND I LOVE HIM!!!!
You're so right, one good day....3 days payback lol
it wouldn't be a proper maintenance video without John swinging around a power tool. jah bless!
lol Yes! catch that frog John! :D
I love your videos but may I suggest a lav mic
My neighbor's yard is a complete mass of weeds and my ivy keeps the weeds out so, I do think it has it's uses. I just go after it with the hedge trimmer every few weeks.
Made me laugh how he was trying to recover for knocking on ivy! I don’t like ivy either and glad it won’t grow here for us easily
I don't like ivy either, but Kudzu is worse!
I was gonna say you must be close to the water with the gulls bawling.
Does anyone know how John manages to create those weed free gravel paths?
Who has the job to go out later to find and gather the clippings? 🤣🤣
Sometimes me but not always.
Has John ever said how ivy got in the garden?
Ivy comes in from its berries spread by birds.
I find ivy grows slow across the ground and keeps moisture in. I think it gets a bad rap. Much like the dandelions.
I like long videos.
Happy Spring 🐝
Hard to bate the bushman john
If a frog pees on you, you'll get a wort. Have you ever herd of that saying?
Take the branch off!
I just saw a video where someone was making baskets out of split ivy stems. You have raw material there, not weeds! Lol.
link please:)
@@anderjpoo if you Google " ivy for basket making" you will find dozens of videos from which to choose.
That **&~@! ivy !!
lol
If the seagulls are moving inland so will a little storm
John please get a new pair of loppers!
