I wonder; what's the role of the slot? In other words; how will the smelling experience change if we put the plotter directly in the cup/ smellinator instead of inserting it through a slot?
That’s actually a really good question! I believe that just putting a blotter inside a large wine glass would work just as well! However, if one wants to test many fragrances in a row, a slot at the bottom would make it easier. A slot ensures that the blotter doesn’t come in contact with the inner walls of the glass and doesn’t transfer any odors. Whereas just dropping a blotter inside would “contaminate” the glass and you would have to wash it out before every other fragrance. Also, what I’ve found with my Smellinator is that it’s nice to have a whiff of fresh air coming from the bottom (but it had a larger opening than just the slot). Whereas the gas station coffee cup with just the slot felt VERY stuffy and didn’t provide a pleasant smelling experience ✨😀
I don’t know why but smelling perfumes it’s my fav hobbie , when I go to a niche boutique or even Sephora I become hypnotized and even a bit overwhelmed because I want to smell everything
@ I wonder where you buy the essential oils and the products , I’m from Belgium ( malmedy ) and I wouldn’t mind driving to Germany to buy some materials
Awesome video! 👌🏽 Some shops got ceramic cups with a wide blotter at the bottom, that seems to work pretty well, at least for a sense of dry down. As for cutting glass, although it might sound counter intuitive, fine stone burrs work much better on glass and, generally, silicate alloys. Then, for a fine finish of the edge, diamond rubber burrs can be used. Plain diamond burrs, like the one your husband used, are commonly used for metal alloys. At least that's my experience, as a daily user. I'm a dental technician by trade.
I'd love love to see your take on Nightclubbing or really any of the Celine "Haute Perfumery" line! I've really been enjoying your channel. So thank you!!! #smellomaniac
Awww I absolutely love the new #smellomaniac hashtag you came up with! 😍 And thank you for your suggestion! I’ve never smelled that Haute Perfumery Celine line and now I’m really curious!
Educational and visually pleasing like always. My two cents - I like using disposable cosmetics wipes for perfume testing. As for smelinator - do you take orders? ;)
That blotter smell you experienced was likely formaldehyde. It's used in certain countries (Ali Express location comes to mind) in large amounts. If it was sharp and overpowering, it's my guess. And second thing. If you need to remove the bottom of a bottle; fill it with coins. Its weight when shaken will remove the bottom of a bottle. Think of a lot of people jumping up and down on a dance floor which cannot support all their weight. The entire building won't collapse on itself, but it will lose the bottom support. I hope that gives you a visual of what I believe might be happening

Only a magic trick would have filled that subtle vase with coins 😀 but I see your point!
Beautiful video, as always :)
Thank you, Daniel!
Can you do YSL Tuxedo, you won’t regret it
Thank you for your suggestion! I’ve never had the chance to smell it, but it truly looks classy while looking at the notes 🙃
