- The seventh-generation Ford Mustang has been the linchpin of Ford's modern motorsport efforts around the world, from the NASCAR Cup Series to Australia's Supercars series. It was no surprise, then, when the Blue Oval revealed that it would return to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for the first time since 2019 with the Mustang GT3, based on the 2024 Mustang Dark Horse model.
The Ford Mustang GT3 is powered by a 5.4-liter, naturally aspirated Ford Coyote V8 engine. Built and campaigned by Multimatic in the GTD Pro class, and run as a customer car by Proton Competition in both GTD and international GT3 series, the car also marks the first time since 1997 that a Mustang will compete at Le Mans. With past Le Mans winners like Mike Rockenfeller and Joey Hand drafted in to run with Ford's factory IMSA program, expectations are high as the brand writes the next chapter of the Mustang's racing legacy.

Front-engine cars in iRacing have been the most enjoyable to drive so far. I hope this one is just as fun.
Yeah, they are the only ones with a great force feedback. Rear-engined like the Porsche always feel very light, which I suspect is realistic but a bit overblown in iRacing.
@@98MTBiker Yeah I had the same experience with Porsche cars in most sims, but BMWs on the other hand have usually better balance and are nice to drive.

@@oh.Em1lynah, it is said that due to the lack of sound collection by ACC team, so they directly took the sound from that Jag GT3, cuz it sounds close.
Well in ACC…… Technically it’s a Jag Engine with the M4 Physics base handling …. stuffs…..whatever it calls😅

I use only fords in iracing on the ovals (since fords didn’t have a gt3 I went with all Porsches for road cars) now ima have to use a ford on road courses as well

The Bodywork and Chassis was made by Multimatic.
Is this with the updated graphics engine? 4070 Super and my iRacing don’t look like that.

Ford V8s sound objectively better than Chevies. Always have. Years ago my dad bought a mustang just because he heard the exhaust note.

the acc one is a fake mustang, it's been said. they took M4 GT3 physics and aston sound, bit reworked everything. it's not datas from mustang teams.

IIRC it's actually possible to get it working on Linux through Proton now after they updated the anti-cheat. Haven't tried it for myself though

Does the understeer come as an option or as standard? I really do hope that you are running the baseline setup and we can dial in some corrective measures.
Great job. Important question is though: does it come with detachable bootlid and other body panels as the real life counterpart? (yes, I know it has been fixed or "fixed" recently)
