Canadian surgeons are using virtual reality headsets to help patients undergoing minor surgeries manage their pain and anxiety.
The distraction that VR headsets offer can help dull anxiety and pain, experts say.
Research also suggests that virtual reality “not only has applications in acute pain management but also in chronic pain settings.” But other studies have had less promising results. Jamie Mauracher explains.

Below are the comments of the closed-minded. VR has a lot of potential for many types of therapies. If it's not for you fine, but if it reduces the amount of risky analgesics and anesthetics then it needs to be seriously considered.

This "technology" should not be used until it has passed HIGH standardized tests, clinical studies and VR and headphones are heaily regulated. The doctor would need to have discernment to see whether the patient is relaxed or over anesthetized. Severe deviation from health to "provide" a "comfortable" experience.
