    Onlything nissan has going for it is the frontier and thats because the tacoma has been such a disaster

    • @NVRAMboi
      @NVRAMboi 28 дней назад +6

      Titan (soon to be extinct) and Frontier are both solid. Datsun pickups were always tough/well made, and less expensive than Toyotas. But now Toyota has dropped the ball on powertrains. Entry level trims: Frontier $26k (V6), Tacoma $30-32k (turbo 4). The price gap grows even larger on Premium trims.

      And Nissan won't just offer it as the XTerra, which was just about the only Nissan that got much attention in years -- even as the 4Runner is delayed and leaves a wide open hole in the market.
      Stellantis has a HUGE problem owning brands that used to be competitors. If they don't want the XTerra to undercut Jeep products, or the Titan to compete with Ram, and so on, eventually they'll have nothing left to sell!
      And right now, they have less and less that people are willing to buy.

    I will say this repeatedly and you guys won't ever acknowledge it. You're right to a point. But CDJR dealers aren't reducing prices enough. Period....end of story. 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokees........only offering $2000 discount. Wranglers $2000 discount. I might have gotten in trouble for bringing a balloon and birthday card to a dealer for a grand Cherokee that was having it's first birthday. The sales manager and sales staff were angry and mortified. Lol.

    • @nissan300ztt
      @nissan300ztt 28 дней назад +1

      @TATERNUTS1 well the issue is here in Northeast PA, it's not a rich area, people are still overpaying. I'm seeing gladiators $11,000 off. But wranglers are sitting for months. Grand Cherokees are selling but I'm guessing most of them are leases because I know someone whose broke and they just got one with a sticker of $51k. So I still thing most dealers up this way aren't discounting enough knowing full well they have cars sitting you'd think it would be the smart decision.

    I would love to see a manufacturer come up with a grass roots plan called: "Simpler is better" and use the base model with less bells and whistles at a fraction of the cost...this may entice people back into the new car market.

    In my opinion if nissan would get rid of the junk automatic transmissions many more people would buy them. We had 2 of them, the car's themselves were nice car's but both of them ended up with transmission failures at under 80k miles. They both had the same CVT transmissions. They are the only company that has several car's under 30k but people are afraid of that transmission. I don't understand why they are still using it.

    • @cmiles97x38

    In July of 2003 I bought a 2002 Kia Optima it was 16k new I got it used for 14k after the F and I office got done with me I had a loan for over 16k at 18% interest total payments after 71 months cost me 25k. I swear I had the most expensive 2002 Kia Optima in the USA. I kept the car until June of this year 20 years and 10 months in order to get my money's worth out of it. It still has the original engine and transmission. I was able to sale it to a friend for $2,300 so roughly cost me 1k a year to own the car. That is how you beat the negative equity keep driving it, even after it is paid for, even after you are bored with it, even when you swear you will not put another repair bill into it. Keep driving it. The car I replaced it with I brought from a private party for cash. I am one of those people that say never say never but I Hope to never have to walk onto a dealership lot ever again for as long as I live.

      If the supermarket is based on medium to high volume movement. The margin is 1%.
      There are some supermarkets that operate on higher retail lower volume model. They make a greater margin at the cost of higher revenue.
      Here is an example of a supermarket I worked for. At the time they averaged 1 million in sales per week or about 13 million per quarter. When we had the financial meetings. Profit for the quarter was about 100k. The profit number varied by what was spent on payroll.
      If there was to much overtime the profit number would go down. Then the next quarter would have a lot of belt tighting.

      Is that 1% margin vs the MSRP or invoice of the car or 1% profit after paying interest on floor plan. The true cost of goods sold isn’t invoice, it’s just the floor plan cost plus marketing and sales expenses. Am I wrong? EG, the invoice could be $20k but the dealer borrows that… if they turn inventory quickly, their interest cost might be, say $500 (a total guess). So if the gross on a car (sales price - invoice, fees + holdback is $1000, they aren’t making a 5% margin ($1,000/$20,000) but making $1000/$500, or a 200% ROI. This is simplified of course, no commission, marketing expense, rent, electricity cost, etc.

    If Nissan wants to sell more cars they should stop making transmissions that suck. They have no one to blame but themselves. For years they sold many models where you'd have to replace it multiple times. Do you think anyone is going to buy a car knowing that they will have to spend $6,000 on a transmission? People learned their lesson. Now when you say Nissan they're like Nah, I'll pass.

  • @johnweibel1128
    @johnweibel1128 27 дней назад +1

    Credit card swap can work but it's risky because you WILL have an additional unplanned emergency expenditure. Ideally, it takes two cards - from different banks. Move the $6,000 to one card. Then, with a "clean" card (no balance), and a 6 or 12 month, or if you can find it no time limit intro/balance transfer. Key is to actually pay the balance off before the low rate expires.

    You went right past this, but I was laughing when you said GM offered to buy out dealers who didn't want to go all EV, and a lot of dealers shrugged and took the buyout.
    Clearly the people closest to the ground, and the customers, think there's little to no market for EVs, and trying to sell them is a losing proposition.
    Yet, GM charges forward into the abyss.

    • @dyates6380
      @dyates6380 28 дней назад

      I totally agree. NO ONE wants EVs and people who, for some reason do, already bought them. This SH#T administration can try, but they won't force people to buy that garbage - ever. GM is garbage and they NEVER paid the US taxpayers back for that bailout which was due to their own ineptness. They are crap, and so are MOST domestic automobile manufactures. It's going to be a rough patch going forward and I for one would NEVER, EVER buy GM, Stellantis or even Ford at this point - or EVER AGAIN. I laughed my ass off when the caved and gave the UAW workers that type of salary and benefits last year. I had a good laugh. Straight up garbage. Been there, done that with their woefully inferior products, and now NO ONE is buying their junk.

But things got crazy, wanted to buy in 21 but prices skyrocketed. Then interest rates skyrocketed. So a mix of 40 percent increases and interest rates equals keep my two vehicles. My 2018 Sierra elevation was $42000 plus taxes in 18, nearly same truck today is $65000-$72000 with a bigger screen and same engine minus the problems with post Covid trucks from GM. looked at a ford maverick to replace my Hyundai elantra(17) but interest is 8.5 percent in a $45000 mini truck…….crazy! Many CCs have a 3-5% balance transfer fee depending on the length of the low/no interest period. It can still be a little cheaper if you time it right, but if you make one mistake then you'll spend more than with a typical loan. I've done it so I'm not saying it's bad, but it is a bit risky.

    I want to know how CDJR dealerships, publicly traded or not. Somehow are able to pay for their floor plans w units rotting for 1yr+. Are the banks giving them favorable terms in this crap economy. I have been hunting down a 4xe and all CDJR dealerships I talked to are not willing to work down pricing. What are they telling their sales floor team? These dudes are so confident, like your insulting them for asking further discounts.

    When was the last time you saw a Nissan CAR/sedan commercial? The fully loaded Versa with transportation is 22000. There’s people who need a car with full new car warranty who would buy that especially since Mitsubishi had dropped the Mirage. Isn’t it better to make 1000 profit plus follow up service that not make it all! Nissan/Datsun’s original success was due to selling affordable cars. Now all manufacturers want to do us sell high priced SUVS or Trucks that really should create a market segment for Nissan

      H-D prices are too high, but they've also really alienated their cult of customers with unpopular political crap when they should have just zipped it. Word is, their tent at Sturgis was a ghost town this year.
      The latest is that they're moving more production to Thailand. The more they do this, the less reason flag-waving H-D fans will have to look at Harley. H-D has a lot of better performing, less expensive, higher quality competition. It's just not American made, which is what brings H-D a lot of their loyal business.

      Blame the EPA whose got there boot on the neck of these manufactures. The Automobile Industries been hijacked by the Government to push Partisan Agendas. The EPA has a 50mpg by 2030 mandate on the Combustion Engine that's impossible to meet. This is why old Trucks cost so much & the future for Trucks is bleak. There's also a new NHTSA Mandate that all cars manufactured after 2028 must have automated braking assistance. Just go to NHTSA's website & see all the Regulations that pushing the automobile industry. Its Regulatory Bureaucracies that bypass Congress & create Rules out of thin air like a dictator that have most influence on the direction a Manufacture will go. Also all foreign Manufacturers have to abide by these rules to do business on the American Market. No one voted for these Rules & no one voted for the people creating & enforcing them. Yes there's also Inflation due to the Trillions spent by Government but Regulators destroy the Free Market. Then it's always the Politicians that created this mess that turn around and blame the "Corporations". A lot of these new prices are a result of the "New Normal" agenda that Partisans in Federal Government had hoped to usher in after Covid. Sure theres greed & sure theres bad companies but these behind the curtain puppet masters don't get talked about enough.

    I don’t understand why auto makers can’t know where each vehicle under a recall is or can locate.
    At least in my state vehicles are tilted and registered by VIN. Every manufacturer should know which VINs are affected by recalls. Get with the state (DMV/BMV) and find out where each is registered then send notice.

    Long Time Nissan Owner. Altimas, Pathfinders, Murano's, and a Versa. I love them, very peppy, Buuuuutttttt. Nissan needs to advertise that their fragile CVT's need to have at least partial oil changes of their $25.00/qt. NS3 CVT oil every 10 to 15K miles. Usually about 4 qts. for a partial. It's just because the CVT works so hard doing what it does, that the special chain belt that is used needs to be kept properly lubricated in order to get reasonable long term mileage. Originally the engineers thought it was because of heat degradation alone and Nissan started coolers. It worked a little better, but was no fix for the fragile drive belt. Nissan just needs to stop whistling past the cemetary, meaning, they need to stop pretending there isn't any problems with their products, and they would sell much better than they do. My second Altima cost $3500.00 for a new rebuilt tryanny in 2017, which thanks to a class action lawsuit that was just approved, Nissan had to refund that repair. I do appreciate the refund. But wish Nissan would just own their problem and let all their consumers know the problems up Front!!!

    I’ve watched Nissan make a series of what I think are bad choices, market-killing choices since about 1973. They were a hot brand as Datsun from when they introduced the 510, then the 240Z. Then they threw away the Datsun brand-and dropped from the top overnight. Most recently, they rewarded fleet buyers of the NVx500 line with an announcement that they were going to drop the line! “Great! I’ve just licked myself into a Nissan fleet and I won’t be able now to keep building?! Shoulda gone with Sprinter!” Stupid!
