    Etsy charges for listings and even though it's not a lot per listing, it adds up when you list lots of stuff. So if they don't show that stuff and it gets little attention that's definitely a motivation killer.

    I disagree that Etsy will show new products to customers. I started my shop a month ago. In the first week I uploaded 25 products, Etsy showed two different listings to two different customers and they each bought the product. I upload new products to Etsy every week and they show them to NO ONE, except last week they showed them to three scammers who sent me three separate Etsy messages saying that my shop was on hold and I needed to send all my details to them. Etsy does not voluntarily show products to customers. If they show it to one person and that one person doesn't buy it, then they must put you on a list as being a bad shop. I jump through all the hoops, with ten photos, 13 very researched tags, great pictures, a video, etc. The problem is that Etsy does not help at all. All of my traffic comes from outside of Etsy. This is not my first Etsy shop and I already knew this, but I hoped for a different outcome. When people see my artwork at shows and such, they buy it. But Etsy does not show it all.

      Same to me. Since Etsy begins with Gift mode my sales drop to zero.

      I'm sorry you're experiencing this, but have to disagree as I've started multiple new shops and the current one is doing quite well, being a month old. It sounds like you are selling personal artwork since you sell at shows, if so, you will always see way more success building an external audience and sending them to your own site vs. Etsy. I wish you the best of luck though!

      This is not true. Etsy doesn’t put your shop on a bad-shop-list just bc someone doesnt buy your producg immediately. If so i would not make money on etsy. I have tooons of listings with little to no sales next to the ones that sell like crazy - this is how it goes on etsy. I get where you’re coming from but etsy is a longtime game. The gold rush times from 2020 are over, so new shops need to go through the waiting game like we all did before C hit. If your SEO is in place your listings will get views over time, it takes up to 90 days until the algorithm knows which audience is the right one for your listing. Again, IF your SEO is made for the customer you want to reach. My first shop got sales in the first week, my second shop got consistent views and sales after 6 months. There are so many factors to why, there is no blueprint to get instant success on etsy. Being a etsy seller for years with 3 shops and 1 in the making i can assure you Bailey is one of the view etsy youtubers sharing valuable information and not just trying to ger clicks and making money mostly from talking about etsy on youtube. Ppl need to stop looking at etsy as a easy way to make money fast. Its a online business like every other online business, you need knowledge, a strategy, a concept and learn by making mistakes. A successful business is never a straight line to the top, its always a curvy one with a lots of ups and downs. This is why it is even more amazing when you finally reach the top.

    Hi Bailey! I know one probably shouldn't be discouraged by the saturation of Etsy, but is there a chance I can open a t-shirt shop and sell consistently, knowing how many other people are doing it besides me? Maybe I should use my graphics for other products? honestly what holds me back is the fear of not finding the right niche or remaining invisible in the Etsy market

      Hi! There is always a way to enter a marketplace either by niching way down or sell a semi-related product to the one you want to that has less competition is usually my advice :)

    This is my THIRD attempt at an Etsy shop, and I am effing DETERMINED to make it work. 2 Weeks in.
    Much better views. Better metrics. Better items. No sales yet. But I won't quit. I don't care if I need to chip away at it for the next 6 months.

    I have a tumbler wrap design question, please. I purchased some “seamless” papers to use for mug wraps. When I tried it on my tumbler, there was a distinct line in the middle of the back, so obviously it wasn’t as seamless as they said, although I did check it in a seamless checker. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks!

    • @thedoodlekeeper
      @thedoodlekeeper 9 месяцев назад +1

      A lot of seamless designs are sold as 12 by 12 inch. So adjust them to your width. You don't require the bottom part to match.

    • @digitallypurposedbailey
      @digitallypurposedbailey  9 месяцев назад

      thedoodlekeeper is correct, you'll just need to fix to your width and it will be seamless:)

    This question is unrelated to this video topic, but I was wondering what website/software you use to remove backgrounds from your AI creations? I've been using Canva and Kittl, but neither of them do a precise job of removing the background, especially if the design is more detailed.

      Photoshop and Illustrator. It also helps to have a very clean / blank background to begin with.

      You'll have more control in PS, but I usually use MyDesigns since I do like 20 at a time and it can upscale at the same time :)

      @1972ghostryder And thank you for looking out for me and mentioning this! ;) I really normally wouldn't respond to this type of comment but since I have a related video on the topic come out today, I thought it was a sign and I really have an honest question for you, but do you really believe that this shop is my main source of income or my only shop?
      As mentioned in many other videos, this shop now functions as my 'top of funnel', meaning my only goal is to get them to my own site/membership at a later time once they opt-in because the 1000s of customers who have a membership with me create the same reoccurring monthly/yearly revenue away from Etsy fees, competition, copycats, ad budget, etc. Since 'revealing' the shop here on YT, I have not run ads and barely maintain it as I design primarily for my own membership these days. But you would know this if you've been following along. :)
      I want to thank you for your comment and for the time you took to watch the video, but since I clearly don't know what I'm doing, you may want to look to other channels as they would probably help you more. :)
